An issue when it comes to gaming is the 2K screen. More power-hungry titles, such as PUBG, did not have a fun time trying to run at a reasonable frame rate while also pushing full resolution. The tablet will easily power more casual experiences, but this isn’t going to replace a dedicated console any time soon, and it is no iPad Pro. Performance is mostly adequate. The Tab P11 Pro undercuts several rival models available from Samsung by offering a weaker processor, the Snapdragon 730G, which is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The question has been asked again and again: who takes photos on a tablet? Clearly there is an audience, otherwise rear cameras on tablets would have gone the way of the dinosaurs. It’s a nippy one, though. It includes a Snapdragon 730G processor, which sits in the middle of Qualcomm’s range. I feel the slavish need to reveal its benchmark scores – 544 and 1,784 in the Geekbench 5 tests, 41fps in the off-screen GFXBench Manhattan benchmark – but what actually matters is that this tablet never felt slow in use.

Kids Space makes it easy to add all of your child's accounts to the tablet, and Google recommends fun and educational games, books, and YouTube videos based on their interests. A robust set of parental controls also enable you to limit your child’s exposure to specific content or restrict the amount of time they can use the tablet. As might be expected, each camera struggles particularly in low light, offering little but a noisy mess. These conditions should therefore be avoided. An unfortunate point too is the poor quality of the selfie camera. In a world where video conferencing has become nigh on impossible to avoid, it feels like an oversight. Although there are few included webcams which are ‘good’ in any given device, our presence during work calls was as a ghost haunting the frame - not exactly a good look by any definition. It’s a solid tablet for entertainment and the occasional bit of work, and there’s certainly nothing to complain about with the suave cover and keyboard. In fact, the Tab P11 falls just short of a great tablet to recommend. Where things go a bit sideways is with performance that’s not to do with streaming content. The Tab P11 will struggle when gaming, and loading up multiple apps can sometimes bring it to a crawl or force a restart. That’s a shame as it really is a great all-rounder tablet to have, especially since the keyboard and stylus are so easy to use. The keyboard itself is a typical Lenovo, which isn’t to say that it has the quality of a ThinkPad, but that it has broad key caps and decent key travel - certainly for this kind of effort and at this size point.
A big win for the tablet though is battery life. On Wi-Fi (an LTE option is available) we were able to eke out over 10 hours of screen-on-time across several days of use. The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro is available now in the US and UK directly from Lenovo, with an Australia launch planned for May. One color option is available at the time of writing, and two different configurations are available. With a single-core score of 527 and a multi-core score of 1,614 on Geekbench 5, performance is very roughly analogous to the flagship Snapdragon 845 from 2018. Lenovo's mid-range tablet is equipped with 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM in our review sample, but combined with the Helio G90T, this leads to a mixed performance and system lags. Noteworthy stutters occur not only during multitasking, but also in simple processes, such as opening the multitasking view. Even switching from landscape to portrait mode sometimes pushes the Tab P11 Plus to its performance limits. In such cases, the running app is only displayed on the upper two thirds of the screen, while the home screen is shown on the other part of the display - it's impossible to operate the device for several seconds in this case. Opening the keyboard can also involve tedious waiting times. Similar to the Yoga Tab 11, the software is in urgent need of improvement.

Both shortcomings affect everyday operation and impair user experience significantly. Nevertheless, we believe that there's good reason to hope that both problems will be solved with future updates. After all, a 1200p display running at 60 Hz shouldn't push the MediaTek Helio G90T to its performance limits in simple applications. There is one final factor in the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro’s favour: battery life. Put through our standard video-rundown test, with the screen set to 170cd/m² brightness and Flight mode on, it lasted for 17hrs 28mins. That’s five hours longer than the Apple iPad Air.Try as we could, across multiple days of use, it proved nigh-on impossible to kill. With mixed light to medium use we were able to coax around 10 hours of screen-on time from the device, which is impressive.
