About this deal

Twists and turns which left me gasping in there wake not believing the words in front of me, needing, wanting, craving those answers which are never in my grasp. I won’t say too much because I’ll definitely spoil somethings, and I when into this book blind. And I think there isn’t a better way to go, because so much happens that if I knew about it I wouldn't have had so much fun reading this book. Is it insane that I was hoping for Grayson and London to forego the doctor/patient relationship and head straight into the place of no return? I know, who would ship that? How can I ship that?! It’s wrong and slightly improbable, but I don’t care. It made me uncomfortable a lot of the time. The dialogue felt a bit robotic and monotone, but that was defeated by the over empowering monologue with both the characters. The structure of the book was also really cool. It was strategically orchestrated so that every little jigsaw piece the reader got, was put into place later on in the story. So hats off to the author for that!

I really enjoyed the writing in this story. The narration was a brilliant tone that created a chilling atmosphere. It's mood was perfect for the topics it dealt with. At times, the story could get confusing, but I learnt early that, that was the style of the flow and rhythm of the pace. But man this book proved me wrong. All that psychopathy restrained on a leash while he's chained up and trying to push London over the edge, while she is hella turned on but still trying to maintain a sense of professionalism was just... hot af. The tension between these two was fantastic. spoke in so many riddles it made my head spin. He’s a character I’ve still not been able to fully figure out. 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞? 𝑳𝑴𝑨𝑶 𝑵𝒐𝒑𝒆. I had so much hope for Born, Darkly and although the premise intrigued me, I was skeptical on how the author managed to pull a romance with a serial killer. The way they were self aware, always in each other's head and catching up with what game the other one was trying to play makes this more enjoyable because they weren't each other's victim. They were both hunters fighting for control. Dr. Noble provided the speculated reasoning as to the murder, but not the mutilation, Your Honor. In my opinion—” idk if it's lawyer in me talking but i didn't feel it's justified just because he was killing rapists or people like that. he was enjoying torturing them and i know i didn't finish the duet but i don't believe they could ever have a hea because one day this man can decide he wants to kill her and i wouldn't be surprised. Dr. Noble,” he begins with a vain toss of his head. I arch an eyebrow. “Since your expert opinion is so widely sought after, would you expound on why you believe Charles Reker sliced his wife up with a butcher knife after he set her on fire.” It’s the lovely bad things that steal into our thoughts in the middle of the night and tempt us across the line between good and evil. Those torturously beautiful sins that provoke our deepest, most deviant desires. It feeds us in the dark, stoking a frail flame into an inferno we can no longer resist. She is my flame. And I am all but pleading for my muse to burn me alive.

She was a specialized criminologist first on the scene scrutinizing all the clues left behind building profiles for the investigators. He was an expert in esoteric philosophy. Put these two together to work on a case with them being the best of the best and you know off the field and on things are going to heat up. No, I do not believe rehabilitation is achievable. Especially for the Bundys and Dahmers of the world." No, I do not believe rehabilitation is achievable. Especially for the Bundys and Dahmers of the world. They are governed by their Id—and the Id is the ultimate monster.” This book set out to take the Robin Hood complex with it's romance, we saw the equally deranged and broken thought processes of both Grayson and London. It showed how Grayson was killing and torturing people that 'deserved' to be killed because they were killers, or rapists, or criminal themselves. This allowed Grayson to become a vigilante. The crisp scent of spring greets me as I exit the courthouse. Maine is so fresh in the spring, as if everyone is given a clean slate. I inhale the jasmine in the air, letting it cleanse the trial from my system. I head down the steps, careful not to trigger another flare-up, and pain lances my arm.

Don’t make me slam my gavel, Mr. Hatcher.” The judge raises her gavel in warning. “Objection overruled. Dr. Noble was asked to provide testimony of her professional opinion of the defendant’s state of mind. Since she’s come all this way—” Judge Gellar grants me a telling smile, her dark features more youthful when not fixed in a scowl “—I’d like to hear her thoughts.” I have to say that the plot was guessable until it wasn’t. I didn’t guess that there would be more to her past. It was actually a great plot twist and for that reason 5 Stars! The chemistry between the main characters started out as a tangible connection, most from his side, until it became forced as if the author was trying hard to make her characters feel the attraction. Being drawn to danger was a concept I was well versed in, but this didn't feel attraction or compulsion. That existed only in the author's mind, not in the written words. A pity.

To start, the cover of this book is beautiful and instantly drew me in. I am a fan of dark romance and psychological thrillers, so I knew I had to read this. Book Genre: Abuse, Adult, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Crime, Dark, Mystery, Romance, Sociology, Suspense, Thriller On the hunt for a dangerous serial killer, Halen is desperate for answers. So desperate, that she'll request the assistance of an even more dangerous killer who she was responsible for putting behind bars six months ago. This book had me hooked the moment I read the premise, because isn’t there something so diabolically erotic about a criminal psychologist falling in love with a convicted murderer? What is Suella Braverman up to? Framing migrants as an existential threat to western civilisation, assailing multiculturalism, while talking darkly about the numbers of children had by foreign-born mothers; this week the home secretary was to be found delivering a speech to a rightwing US thinktank that sank to a bleak new low. Braverman has form when it comes to introducing extreme rightwing views into the mainstream, but this speech was especially egregious. It was riddled with the same tropes found in the “great replacement” – a far-right conspiracy theory that suggests Europeans are being replaced by outsiders with the complicity of elites. You’re mine, London. We can dance this violent dance until we bleed each other dry, or we can surrender. Your choice. But I will have you.” USA Today bestselling romantic thriller author. From an early age, Trisha Wolfe dreamed up fictional worlds and characters and was accused of talking to herself. Today, she lives in South Carolina with her family and writes full time, using her fictional worlds as an excuse to continue talking to herself. Read this line out loud - His gravity encapsulates every molecule, dominating the elements with his commanding presence - What did this even mean? Fear not, there were many such lines that gave zero imagery or added anything to the story.
