About this deal

I am always thrilled to get approved for early copies of his books, so a massive thank you to Random House UK for feeding my addiction. At the same time, Cindy Thomas, news reporter and author is attending the first event on her tour promoting her new book on the life of serial killer, Evan Burke, who is serving life in prison. The books should really be read as a series to really follow the growth and stories of the characters, though they can be read as stand-alones and are great as a palate cleanser between heavier reads. I walked past the two rows of gray metal desks toward the workstation Conklin, Alvarez, and I had staked out as our own. I love this series of books and marvel yet again at how easily we are pulled into the plot with so much detail and suspense.

23rd Midnight - Libby The 23rd Midnight - Libby

As Cindy goes on tour with her true crime bestseller about Evan Burke, she believes the worst of this harrowing experience is now behind her.Patterson is one of my favourite authors and he has a way of reeling you straight in and this was no different. In The 23rd Midnight a copycat serial killer "Blackout" is targeting individuals during Cindy's True Crime book tour. If Lindsay can't keep her friends off Blackout's kill list its lights out for the Women's Murder Club.

James Patterson - The 23rd Midnight James Patterson - The 23rd Midnight

The 23rd novel in the Women's Murder Club series sees a potential copy cat killer on the streets of San Francisco. I feel like everything that happened is something I’ve already seen or read somewhere else and the writing was clunky. While Yuki is sure that this is a slam dunk, the accused tells a story of depravity committed against him and how he was out of his head. This is the 23rd book in the series and I’ve been a fan of the Women’s Murder Club since reading book 1 10+ years ago. A man is accused of depriving his wife of the necessities of life after chaining her up in the basement of their home.

They look at the other murders and then Blackout talks to them sayiqng things will escalate if they don’t release Evan Burke! It is only when Cindy is kidnapped by Blackout that Boxer and the SFPD realise just how serious things are getting.

23rd Midnight - Goodreads Carol’s review of The 23rd Midnight - Goodreads

This book has the usual short sharp chapters that we are used to from James and his co-authors and it very quickly picks up and becomes very exciting.

But these don’t appear first on Blackout murder spree, Cindy is promoting her book that she wrote about Evan Burke the notorious serial killer who Lyndsey captured previously and who was now rotting in San Quentin Prison. Inspector Sonia Alvarez is in her early thirties, a leggy brunette recently relocated from Las Vegas MPD, where she used her street smarts working undercover in Vice. Now Lindsay's tracking an elusive suspect, one who's penning a deadly playbook featuring Cindy's name in blood-red ink. I started it not long after finishing a truly epic read and had high hopes that I’d love this story. Midnight is the twenty third book in James Patterson and Maxine Paetro's Women's Murder Club series and I am always excited when a new title in this series comes out as I have really enjoyed them all.
