About this deal

A chase then ensued as several scout troopers riding 74-Z speeder bikes pursued the troop transport. Two of the bikes crashed into each other and exploded; Karga destroyed a third with the dual laser turret. Dune piloted the Marauder into another speeder bike, slamming it against the cliff face and destroying it. The last scout trooper managed to climb onto the top of the vehicle, holding an explosive, but Karga swung the turret around to face the front and shot the trooper to death at close range. [1] At LEGO® Con on the weekend, 3 sets from the Mandalorian were officially revealed – The Imperial Armored Marauder, Boba Fett’s Star Ship (the ship formerly known as Slave I) and the Imperial Light Cruiser. All three of these are integral to key moments in the series, and along with 75299 Trouble and Tatooine, as well as the 75314 The Bad Batch Shuttle shows an ongoing commitment to presenting more LEGO® sets from the newer, Disney managed, faces of the franchise. Heavy armour and weaponry dominates the powerful Trexler 906 Armoured Marauder, which appears impressive in LEGO form. The model measures 20cm in length and captures superb shaping, when compared with the original vehicle. Moreover, the exterior seems appropriately rugged, combining light and dark bluish grey elements to tremendous effect. The AFOL Engagement team at the LEGO Group sent over a copy of the the new wave to review, including the Clone Wars sets, and today, we will take a look at the 75311 Imperial Armored Marauder. Appearing in the Mandalorian, series 2, episode 4: The Siege, the Armored Marauder is a heavily armoured version of the Troop carrier, seen in the finale to season I.

We start by building up the walls of the aft end of the vehicle, leaving a cabin space 4 studs wide, with a couple of seats in it. there is a turntable base at the rear, and some some bars on the lower front ends. I solitary tab points forward – somewhere for the drivers cabin to be added later. The Northern Summer 2021 wave of LEGO® Star Wars sets focuses almost entirely on sets based on Television Series: Clone Wars season 7/The Bad Batch and the Mandalorian. These ornate robes correspond with Karga's updated appearance, including golden fasteners on both shoulders with extensive detail across the waistcoat. The asymmetry works neatly too, reflecting Greef Karga's propensity for action. This minifigure includes a standard blaster pistol rather than his previous twin pistols, which matches the second season. From here, we move on to the front cabin, adding a door that folds down, as well as the driver’s control panel.. as well as the Concept art of the Marauder chase for "Chapter 12: The Siege" of The Mandalorian television series.

Each lateral laser cannon should incorporate twin barrels, although the single barrel features excellent texture. The dorsal turret instead includes stud shooters which are integrated neatly and the rear viewports look great, matching those at the front. Once again, the combination of light bluish grey and dark bluish grey pieces is appealing, with trans-light blue engines around them. Our regular stormtroopers demonstrate that the troops of the Empire are no longer clones: we have 2 new stormtrooper faces here: one reddish brown male, and one female. They are not currently listed in catalogs, so I presume they are new in this wave of sets. The trooper armour design is consistent with what we have seen for the last few years. Two standard Stormtroopers are also provided. Their dual-moulded helmets have certainly proven controversial but they are exceptionally detailed, including numerous vents and other accents. Strangely, the dark bluish grey highlights present on the reverse of the Stormtrooper helmets are missing from the Artillery Stormtrooper's helmet, as demonstrated above. Another hatch appears on the roof, although this example is cosmetic rather than functional. Nevertheless, there is sufficient space to stand a minifigure here when the hatch is open, as though commanding the transport. An important 1x2 plate with side rail is situated inside this hatch, preventing the lid from closing too far. There are four minifgures included with this set: Greef Karga, the Magistrate on Navarro; a new Atillery Stormtrooper and two regular stormtroopers. Overall, I enjoyed this set more than I thought I would. I fround the technique for detailing the side panels to be interesting, and there are so many doors that you can access the entire vehicle to place your figures inside. It is a little smaller, relative to a figure than the ‘real one’, but it is certainly roomy enough. The gun turrets, including the rotating gunners seat all add to the play value. it seems like every new star wars ship design is either a greeble-laden grey box or a recolored original trilogy ship. Moff Gideon dispatches numerous soldiers to recover Grogu on Tython, including an Artillery Stormtrooper. These ordnance specialists are distinguished by yellow highlights which adorn their armour and the minifigure captures such details beautifully, particularly across the helmet where brilliant detail appears. Unfortunately, the printing on my helmet is slightly off-centre. On the whole, this is a solid set: the craft has some great play value, and the minifigure mixture is good. I appreciate the fact that the presence of a stormtrooper helmet is providing an opportunity to provide some additional head prints into the mix – on the whole, they wont be noticed during ‘standard battle-play,’ but making the elements available will be appreciated by many. The new artillery stormtrooper provides another variant for those keeping score, and the Greef Karga minifigure is a great improvement on the previous version.

I am delighted that diversity is being introduced to the underlying characters in the Stormtrooper armour: these hidden heads are a potentially great way to increase the variety of elements at hand, without necessarily having the characters utilising these elements. This is potentially important when dealing with an external IP, with limited representation amongst different genders and skin colour. Monkie Kid 80054 Megapolis City: 10 Reasons That This Middle-Aged AFOL Is Excited! November 7, 2023 Numerous functions distinguish 75311 Imperial Armoured Marauder from comparable models, especially taking the scale into consideration. Furthermore, the vehicle appears exceptionally accurate to the source material and provides excellent play value which is important, supported by an impressive collection of minifigures. MinifiguresThe interior is easily accessible by opening the front and roof panels, revealing the single seat inside. The printed control console is cleverly connected to the front panel and this component remains fairly uncommon, only appearing in five earlier sets. The design looks splendid though and I love how easily the driving minifigure can be placed inside. This set was provided for review by The LEGO Group but the review represents an expression of my own opinions. Opening the panel behind that hatch reveals even more space for minifigures, with two more seats! This section is relatively inaccessible when compared with those towards the front, but placing minifigures inside remains easy enough. Nevertheless, some method of removing this whole internal seating area would have been beneficial, in my opinion.
