About this deal

Insistent Terminology: Aleya prefers the term Anathema Psykana to Sisters of Silence, as she finds it more descriptive. During the Battle of Luna, Tieron was the first Adeptus Terra official to meet with the reborn Roboute Guilliman. After the Battle of Lion's Gate, he was made Guilliman's personal Remembrancer. [1a] Tieron's aid and occasional lover Anna-Murza Jek replaced Tieron as Imperial Chancellor. [2] He ultimately did not follow Guilliman off Terra and into the Indomitus Crusade. Due to his poor physical condition he may not have survived the campaign. While remaining on Terra he aided his former acolyte Jek against the Hexarchy. [2a] Sources Overly Long Name: As the Custodes are awarded new names for various achievements both in and out of combat, most seasoned Custodians have dozens, if not hundreds of them. Valoris is said to have at least a thousand.

When the astronomicon went out, it doesn't seem to have been an obvious mechanical failure. Tribune Heracleon (leader of the Emperors personal guard) reported that everything was working within normal parameters. Still the Fabricator-General himself went to see what was happening. Do not assume the High Lords are administration loving bafoons who govern the Imperium ineffectually. (Ish)

Contents

Double Agent: In the second book, Fadix openly sides with the Imperium Eterna while covertly setting up assassins to take them out when the time comes. One word- awesome! This is one of the best books set outside the Horus Heresy. The events of this book are likely some of the most momentous since the Heresy some 10K years ago.The best part is it focuses on some very elite forces rarely seen in the normal stories.

Some Custodes ponder that the Grey Knights might be a better embodiment of the Emperors legacy other than themselves because they were "His last great weapon". This is something that they never speak out loud, but amongst them it persists. When Aleya and her ship are trying to reach Terra through the Warp, they're rescued by Navradaran's ship, which has been assembling the Sisters of Silence. This also isn't intended as a book review, though I will say I really enjoyed it's three protagonists and it's documentarian style and would thoroughly recommend Because I found it to be a stellar read, but even more so for Custodes and (to a lesser extent) Sisters of Silence fans. Great Offscreen War: While the story is largely a political drama, there are no less than four different conflicts mentioned as happening offscreen. Villain with Good Publicity: Imperium Eterna's goal in The Regent's Shadow is to become this; by setting up and supporting the Splintered, they "prove" that the Reform Council is unable to keep the peace on Terra, while they swoop in and destroy them. Q: Thanks for all your awesome books on Space Wolves and White Scars. Do you have plans to return to Ingvar for a third Space Wolves novel?

Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Valerian makes something of a habit of it, atypically for a Custodian. It's tolerated mostly because things come up his way most of the time.

The Unfought: Asterion Moloc, the Minotaurs' Chapter Master, is hyped up as an extremely deadly warrior, and his men serve as The Heavies throughout the second book, but despite coming within inches of battling Valerian, the new Master of the Administratum convinces him to leave before the two can come to blows.
