About this deal

However, if you're looking for a more midrange focused and neutral signature, with the most natural timbre for the price, I suggest looking for something else.

Seeaudio x Z Reviews Rinko Initial sound Impression

Instruments and timbre is on the cold and thin side. Not the most natural midrange presentation but is decently acceptable for a V shaped signature. So, now one more chifi company sees the light of Sean and his olives. But adherence to Harman only gets you so far, and that’s even assuming they hit it in the first place. So now IEF answers the age old question: how good is the Yume actually?

SeeAudio x Z Review Rinko 1DD+1Planar Dual-Driver Hybrid IEMs

For soundstaging and imaging, the Sony are miles ahead of the Yume. This is the main trait of the EX800ST, and they are class-leading in this regard. I don’t expect any IEMs at this price range to beat them in the near future. SeeAudio Yume vs Moondrop KXXS The mirror faceplate of the KXXS makes it very difficult to take a photo. However, it does look very cool in real life. The Kiwi Ears Quartet is a 2DD+2BA hybrid IEM. It’s more U-shaped compared to Rinko’s V-shaped sound signature. Quartet’s bass is more hard-hitting and has a greater impact. The mids and vocals are more forward on the quartet. Perhaps most importantly, Quartet’s vocals have better stability and density whereas they sound somewhat hazy on the Rinko. The KXXS are a single dynamic driver design, as opposed to the hybrid setup in the Yume. In terms of sound, there are also a few differences. The KXXS have a more V-shaped sound signature while the Yume are more neutral-natural. For bass response, both of them have a similar quantity, but the KXXS dig deeper and have a faster punch, making the KXXS the more bassy option.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

The first observation on the bass response of Rinko is that it is rather punchy and with authoritative slam as both bass parts are quite capable of delivering on such quantity and quality. Though there are some occasional bass bleeding across the lower midrange frequency. I ran them on my main rig (Spring 3 + Zähl HM-1) - which I know is a bit overkill - and also on my Mojo 2. Playing around with some very broad EQ settings on both by reducing the bass and boosting the treble by just a bit already results in a better/clearer listening experience for me and lets some potential shine through. Carrying on, the foam of the eartips is very slow to return to it’s original state, leaving a weird emptiness between the silicone and where the foam should be as both parts are not bonded.

However, sub bass extension is quite average, a little less deep and rumbly compared to something like an OH10 but still overall very sufficient. Mids are the star of the show because of planar tech and it's definitely has naturalness and openess of headphones not iem . It's very 3d and deep as well . It's also very holographic and doesn't have distortion . The vocals have breath too for both male and female and instrument have note weight and tone which you can identify. I can only imagine how awesome this driver combo will be in qdc but at same time I'm loving the tuning of rinko as much as my other expensive iems. These can hang with the big boys. There is a rumor that SeeAudio was started by ex-qdc engineers and I personally get that rumor because their tuning is in qdc’s blood.

Thus, Rinko in a sense is “dynamic-like sounding” yet “has traits of Planar timbre in upper registers”. Rinko is mid bass focused whereas Legato is more on the sub bass which the rumble is literally felt by your jaws and transitions nicely into the mid bass Soundstage is average for the price they are asking for; it does not have this wide feeling that even cheaper IEMs provide (e.g CCA CRA). Width and height are average while depth is below average. Soundstage is somehow similar in size with the Hzsound Heart Mirror.
