About this deal

There are lights and ruined pillar tops that are added to the outer pieces. This was the only step, that I had problems so far, as the hanging light on the right corner of the balcony, didn't want to fit the groove-and-tongue connection. Ray Dranfield: The Battle Sanctum consists of two parts, both of which are designed to complement the Sector Imperialis scenery range. A key feature of the main building is that it enables you to build a diagonal wall. This in itself has a number of applications, not only within the wider Sector Imperialis range, but also the Sector Mechanicus range, as it means that you can create octagonal buildings. This was only possible due to the corner pillars used in the range – I’d always planned to add diagonal walls in a future kit, so seeded the means to do so in the original design of the pillars.

And now all pieces combined, including the statue. What an impressive sight. Celestine is around 20 cm high, the sanctum itself lands at around 30 cm. Combine the two and you are at almost half a meter of terrain.GW has certainly come a long way. The new Diologus model was first spotted in an early teaser photo. However, was officially unveiled with some serious cosmetic upgrades. The Imagifier also got a helping hand. Carrying what looks to be some vague idol to Celestine, she’ll be a must-have unit to inspire the rest of your ranks. The significant upgrades to some of the Sisters ranged weapons also means that Spirit of the Martyr has a bit more going for it now. Getting a chance at some final multi-melta shots as your models are on the way out is obviously pretty spicy, and if you’ve skewed heavily towards shooting this is worth thinking about.

From the looks of it, Judith will be arriving on three smaller squad sized sprues, and mount on a regular flight base. Repentia have been staples in competitive lists since the release of the codex, and they’re still excellent in 9th. Now that you have actual shooting options, most lists run one or two squads rather than the maximum of three being in every army, but they’re extremely good and you shouldn’t leave home without some. Celestian Squad A few Bloody Rose elements do still make it in – the smash Canoness and a full squad of Repentia are great value adds, and we can also see that the good news about multi-meltas has reached the Sororitas, as a unit of Retributors makes the cut. I’d guess the Repentia and maybe the Retrubutors go into strat reserves in a lot of games, though Repentia + one Mortifier squad + one Death Cult unit is also a potentially spicy configuration to stash for 2CP at a cool 19PL. As long as there’s somewhere to hide the Retributors that’s probably fine, and once you manage that this list presents very few targets for anti-horde firepower, something that’s definitely in its favour. The list ends up coming together really well, able to contend with almost any kind of threat and pressure the board very effectively. Andrew Gardenhire’s Mixed Sororitas Venerated Saint (1 CP): Upgrade stratagems are the Hip New Thing right now and so the Sisters have their own; upgrade a single Imagifier during deployment to give out two buffs rather than one; you’re mostly going to be using this to take +1 strength and immunity to AP-1 at the same time. You won’t always use this, but some armies definitely want Tale of the Warrior and Tale of the Stoic in every game, and it’s especially good if you use the Book of St. Lucius to boost the range. B+ Warlord Trait – Shield Bearer: The warlord has an extra wound and adds one to their save characteristic (so not invulnerable saves) to a max of 2+.After completing Saint Celestine, let's head over to the building itself. As mentioned above, we have new pieces.

Everyone in the (virtual) Warhammer Community office is seriously hyped for the Battlezone kits to drop. Not only do they promise to be game-changing for Tactical Deployment games, but their new narrative rules will make a big difference too. It’s now going to be easier than ever to create your own amazing terrain setup. The incoming multipart Seraphim combine the dynamic airborne poses you’d expect with a swath of optional extras. Of course, the holy trinity of bolter, flamer and melta is represented, as is a brand-new kit option – the elite combat-specialists of the Zephyrim. Immolator with Flame weapon option, unpainted. Get a load of that clear plastic weapons cowl! There is also a Heavy Bolter weapon variant as well. A very interesting detail of this sanctum is the balcony. It raises above the front of the building and is the reason why the blind had to be removed from the mid-wall piece. The floors are large enough that they sit on the rim of the walls, but the smaller ruined / damaged floor pieces are added by using the top lights as connectors from the bottom.Censer of the Sacred Rose – Gives you 1 miracle dice at the start of each turn (yours and your opponent’s). The second floor is build in a similar way to the ground floor, we begin with a regular, long and ruined wall piece. Just one section short and directly including the front, with a door. Side note, I found it a bit weird, that we didn't have a door on the ground, but the sprue only cover one and that part is needed to provide access to the balcony. You could cut out the door if you want to, to create an open way.

Mantle of Ophelia: Canoness only. Gives the model a 3++. Extremely meh – Canonesses are neither valuable enough nor deadly enough (at least, not without spending your relic on a weapon) to want this. D Canoness • Sororitas Command Squad • Palatine • Sister Superior • Sister Hospitaller • Sister Dialogus • Sister Famulous • Imagifier • Reliquant at Arms • Dogmata • Hagiolater • Ministorum Priest ( Confessor • Missionary) • Ecclesiarchy Battle Conclave ( Crusader • Death Cult Assassin • Arco-Flagellant) At this point the majority of Sisters lists are maxing out on three units of melta retributors, so if you’re planning to play this army competitively, get lots! The heavy bolter build is also at least OK in theory, but the meltas are so good that you run up against the rule of three before you’d ever put bolters in a list. Penitent EnginesOn top of that we put the actual statue. Saint Celestine wears a body armour and has a flowing tabard - and bare arms and feet. The design is very clear and vivid, so you could probably use the model for Inquisitor or similar as a regular model and not just as a statue. You may want to assemble and paint the weapons pulpit separately so that you don’t miss any shred of detail with your brush! At a baseline this is merely fine– the save is nice but the Deny will rarely work. However, there are several ways to improve both aspects. There are multiple aura abilities available that boost the Shield of Faith save for INFANTRY (all capping out at 4++), and Sacred Rites can boost the power of the Deny. The presence of these abilities (and the fact that for the latter you can choose it on a per-game basis) turns this into a genuinely useful trait, and a big pile of 4++ infantry rolling around the board is the core of the majority of successful builds. It’s also especially good when applied to units like Repentia who otherwise don’t have great saves, and even on vehicles the 6++ is nice to have around because it means in a pinch you can use a 6 from your Miracle dice pool to guarantee a save against something horrific. Zealot A psychic power is resisted by a unit from your army with the AoF ability (without performing an AoF to do so)
