About this deal

he quad-DACs and the beamforming microphones are in a league of their own, and it doesn’t matter what you’re doing, it’s going to sound absolutely astonishing I witnessed audio cues that I’ve never witnessed before whilst playing games that I’ve played countless times beforehand. I’ll not bore you with the specs because in truth, I don’t fully understand them. I’ve always judged through firsthand use rather than what’s written on paper. My judgement here, if not already clear, is that FUSION is absolutely worth its price, and then some. The headset is must have. Not only does it put you in the game with deeper bass and crisp highs, but its microphone is brilliant too. This aspect of its performance is especially apparent when you put the Asus ROG Strix Fusion 700 into 7.1 virtual surround sound mode. Asus promises that the ROG Strix Fusion 700’s virtual surround, developed in conjunction with audio specialists Bongiovi Acoustics, will be a step above that of its rivals. The PowerA FUSION Wired Gaming Headset delivers high fidelity, accurate sound for immersive gaming audio across multiple platforms, chat clarity via detachable boom mic, and lightweight comfort with memory foam headband and earpads. ROG Fusion II 500s provide gamers with unparalleled high-resolution audio thanks to ESS 9280 with Quad DAC technology. They offer immersive 7.1 virtual surround sound and 50mm ASUS Essence drivers for powerful bass and realistic sound space. This is a really good product with the clear gaming vocation, with n otevole.

I also tried connecting it to my mid-2015 MacBook Air, and aside from the volume indicator briefly showing up on-screen, nothing actually came of plugging the dongle into the USB slot. Even diving into the audio input and output settings yielded nothing – but, on paper, the Strix Wireless supports Mac too. For their performance, ROG Fusion II 300 + Fusion II 500 earned Advanced Design as well as Diamond recognition. It doesn’t quite feel like sounds are coming from behind you or around you, so we wouldn’t say that the 7.1 mode will give you any competitive advantage when playing games, as you won’t be able to pinpoint where footsteps or gunfire are coming from, other than from your left or right. With the Fusion II, however, it makes a pronounced difference. Your sense of placement is certainly heightened, making it far easier to pinpoint exactly where your enemies are hiding in CS:GO, for instance. As for musical performance, turning on the surround sound allowed for that thumping bass to come through, although it presented with sufficient nuance to neither override or drown out the still-balanced mids and highs. The Asus ROG Strix Fusion 700 is a pricey gaming headset, but its build quality, features and performance just about justify the high price. This is a premium-looking bit of kit, and if you have other Aura-compatible peripherals and components then you’re really going to like how this syncs up with your other kit.The ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 headset is an undoubtedly interesting product and deserves the attention of anyone looking for a high-quality gaming headset. Having the cable also proves to be a great asset due to the extreme lightness, which contributes to the already excellent insossibility of these headsets. Too bad that the price is too high for a wired headset without the ability to connect to multiple devices at the same time. In the world of gaming peripherals, however, this doesn’t mean a huge amount. More often than not, subtlety is in shorter supply when this particular brand of product design is on the table. No need to fumble with the cable to adjust volume or mute since intuitive controls are integrated into the left earcup. Give the rotational wheel a smooth twist to adjust the volume and press the mute button to silence your mic as needed. The detachable mic stays where you want it, and 42” detachable 3.5mm audio cable simplifies storage. Howdy folks! Now, as of July 23rd, 2019, I no longer operate here at Xbox Tavern. It was one hell of a ride; creating this, building this, and operating it for several years, but, we all hit a proverbial point that encourages us to move on, and that's what I've done; handing the reigns to the very capable Jamie. It features an airtight chamber which Asus claims has been fine-tuned by its audio engineers to create a large area around the drivers to help deliver clear and natural-sounding audio. Meanwhile, the directional audio is excellent, especially with the virtual 7.1 surround sound feature. I had no trouble making out the location of enemies in first-person shooter games like Halo Infinite. It works even for movies and music, making the sound fuller and more 3D. Using the headphones in 7.1 mode, you can certainly hear a difference. In stereo mode the sounds seem to be confined to a horizontal plane, but with 7.1 turned on you're also able to distinguish sounds in the vertical plane; so if a noise is supposed to be above you – a passing aircraft for example – it will sound like it is.

Crafted for Comfort

The Asus ROG Strix Fusion 700 is comfortable to wear, thanks to its adjustable band. It also comes with a second set of ear cushions, which you can swap for the ones that are on the earpieces out of the box for a better fit. It’s not too heavy either, so if you’re planning on a long play session it shouldn’t feel too uncomfortable. The FUSION Gaming Headset is built to satisfy your senses with 50mm drivers that deliver deeper bass and crisp highs for immersive stereo fidelity. Stay focused on your game as noise-isolating earpads drown out the ambient noise. The flexible boom mic transmits your voice with clarity, and Mic monitoring allows you to hear yourself through the headset while you chat on TeamSpeak, Discord, or in game. Ultimately, I can recommend the Fusion for those who need a ROG headset with great sound quality...

The Asus ROG Strix Fusion 700 has a similar design to other ROG Strix headsets, and features design elements we’ve come to expect from Asus’ ROG products. So, you get a set of headphones that are clearly gaming-orientated, without being over the top. So it should be set up to pump out some impressive audio, and in our time with it we were indeed impressed. Music sounded clear and vibrant, and while the bass wasn’t quite as punchy as we’d been led to expect, the clarity and detail on offer were impressive. The ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 delivers an authentic, quite linear audio performance, which can be further adjusted or optimized when using the integrated ESS 9280 HiFi DAC.ROG AI Beamforming Microphones with AI Noise Cancelation for crystal-clear in-game voice communication The Asus ROG Fusion II 500 is a marvellous all-round gaming headset that raises the bar for other headsets to reach. While it does come at quite the price, its audio is some of the best I’ve heard and will suit most gamers perfectly with a nice balance of lows, mids and highs. The ROG Fusion II 500 has all the essential attributes that constitute a top-class gaming headset: great audio performance, usable surround-sound, a clever microphone setup that offers really good noise cancellation, comfort, and build quality. As far as those aspects are concerned, it’s good enough to compete with more expensive headsets, which is something of an accolade. There’s a decent amount of padding sitting around the ear cups and a small leatherette strip on the headband. All of this, combined with the 310g weight, makes the Fusion II a comfortable headset to wear for long periods, and allows the unit to offer up some brilliant passive noise isolation, too. Various customization options, pre-set light effects, and multi-color RGB lighting with over 16.8 million colors
