About this deal

Across a vast and beautiful open world, Horizon Zero Dawn juggles many moving parts with polish and finesse. Its main activity - combat - is extremely satisfying thanks to the varied design and behaviors of machine-creatures that roam its lands, each of which needs to be taken down with careful consideration. Though side questing could have been more imaginative, its missions are compelling thanks to a central mystery that led me down a deep rabbit hole to a genuinely surprising - and moving - conclusion. - Lucy O'Brien, February 20, 2017 Score: 9.3 There are so many great games with pretty cool and interesting female protagonist out there, that it´s a shame your friend Set six months after the first game's conclusion, Aloy is traveling far and wide to prevent the world from spiralling into another mass extinction. Ominous storms brew in the sky, and an unusual red plant is spreading rapidly across the country, killing all flora and fauna in its wake. Her search for answers leads her to the titular Forbidden West, a dangerous region that's home to the volatile and deadly Tenakth tribe. Of course, all sorts of obstacles present themselves, not least of which is Regalla, a Tenakth rebel waging civil war with her followers and an army of machines at her command.

It has multi demographic appeal. The game caters to both hardcore gamers who want a challenge with the Hard and Very Hard difficulties and people who prefer a more tame experience with Normal and Easy difficulties. Being a third person action adventure title helps here; it’s a very popular genre. Even on a Review comment section for Horizon Forbidden West, there's still too much talk of Elden Ring. Cool your jets Soulsborne fans, let another game have it's time in the spotlight. Is it possible iT just looks worse on a 65 inch 4k TV? (it's not an old or cheap model, but the flagship high end Samsung and most other games with great visuals look outstanding on it, without using the ever broken hdr as that is a whole other Playstation issue in itself). RevGaming mentioned some really good games and I want to add Returnal, Control, Final Fantasy VI and Mass Effect, since so many players have resonated with FemShep. Spoken (voice-overs from local talent): English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese. That's in no small part thanks to improved writing and a much, much better cast of supporting characters. Some familiar friends, such as Varl and Erend, join Aloy on her quest and are even more likeable, while new faces such as Zo and Kotallo are fantastic. Everyone feels more fleshed out and human, and you'll grow to like them as they play a larger role in the overall narrative. The game is decent but after playing another several hours (about 12 total), it's just bizarre and disappointing in some aspects technically. Some sort of sacrifices were made in both performance and resolution modes in Ps5 that have absolutely resulted in some very distracting visual quality elements on anything that isn't within like 15-30 feet of your character. A rapturous harmony of beautiful natural landscapes and fearsome machines, Horizon Forbidden West is one of, if not the most visually impressive game I've ever played – even when playing on performance mode, which offers a smooth 60fps at the cost of some level of detail – a tradeoff which I’d wholeheartedly recommend due to the fact that it still looks fantastic. From tiny touches like individual blades of scarlet grass to awe-inducing landscapes that sweep the horizon, it’s an astonishingly detailed world. There’s verdant jungle, sweeping desert, snowy peaks, waves crashing like liquid crystal against sand… the list goes on. Seriously, though, sometimes the only thought that crossed my mind was "f**k me, have you seen the look of this?!" I'm sure these will get ironed out by guerilla, and much of this is to be expected playing an open world game at launch. The Playstation 5 consoles are really powerful, and are a huge step-up from a PS4 or Xbox one, with 4K HDR thanks to HDMI 2.1, and are able to play games at 120Hz. Horizon Forbidden West is also the perfect game to test the power of the consoles, as Eurgogamer's Malindy Hetfeld described it in their review as'a game that exists to be looked at.'

Combat encounters vary from fight to fight and eventually demand you display all of the skills at Aloy's disposal as bigger and bigger threats are thrown at you. It’s a great exercise in thinking on your feet and consistently provides excellent moment-to-moment gameplay. One huge contributing factor to this variety is the sheer amount of different enemy types in the Forbidden West. It’s not just in the range of machines on show, but also in the humans determined to stop you. Tempest 3D AudioTech: Listen to the landscapes of Horizon Forbidden West come to life around you with the PS5™ console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech with stereo headphones (analogue or USB). Hear vegetation rustle in the wind, birds flying overhead and large mechanical machines swimming in the water below as you explore environments teeming with wildlife and machines. Really, if you loved the first one than you're likely to enjoy the second just as much if not more so Great review. Basically it improved upon some aspects (side quests, secondary characters) from the first whilst still being a lot of fun to play. The world remains beautiful yet dangerous, even more beautiful on PS5 and only the story is a slight downgrade on the first but that's to be expected imo. Who knows, maybe your friend will have a change of heart eventually and be able to play even more fantastic games. It showcases the console’s power and next generation improvements. It’s a beautiful game that runs like butter. It loads almost instantly, showing off what the SSD can do for life quality in the case of gamers. Stunning Visuals: Experience the vast world of Horizon Forbidden West in stunning 4K and HDR.* From mountain tops to small sprigs of leaves, everything is realized to incredible detail at an enormous scale. Targeting 60FPS, Performance Mode further enhances smoothness of movement, animations and controls. Dreams..... Dreams is a different thing. It has a very specific niche appeal. It made the gamble to take on Minecraft in the creative space but it's a more obtuse, more..... Business like approach to a less approachable end result especially for kids. I don't think any conclusions for family titles can be made from watching dreams performance. It's very much a unique scenario with a game that I think should have been obvious how it was going to go before it launched. I love that they took the risk. That was a different era for them that came from. But it was never really going to be a real success unless it somehow became a meme. Adaptive Triggers: Enjoy a new level of immersion when you interact with different objects using the DualSense wireless controller’s adaptive triggers. Feel the tension in the string of your bow, the pull of your new grappling tool and the resistance of the triggers on heavy geometric and mechanical weapons. These range from small villages made up of huts and traders to large towns, each with their own quirks. My favourites are those that make homes of old-world architecture – Plainsong, for example, is a commune repurposing a series of nature-reclaimed satellite dishes. There are many to discover, each beautifully unique, including one particular enrapturing underground location that's home to one of the most visually striking video game levels in recent memory (and I won't dare spoil it). In general, the Forbidden West is littered with physical echoes of past humanity, making for a rich and visually compelling sandbox that almost serves as a museum to the history we’re living in now.

PlayStation PS5 Console + Horizon Forbidden West Bundle

I don´t know, to me, if a game has good and fun gameplay mechanics, amazing visuals, interesting characters, a great story and a world to explore, I don´t care who the main character is, what he or she looks like or even their romance preferences, as long he or she is a well written one. That´s it. Subtitles: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, Hungarian, Czech, Turkish, Greek, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Korean.

The machine designs are brilliant, with some new additions like the fearsome Slitherfang providing some of the game's best fights. As before, you can equip many different weapon types, including new ones like powerful Spike Throwers and the Shredder Gauntlet, which launches discs that deal damage for a short time before returning to you. Figuring out the best ways to deal with machines, whether it's using traps, removing some of their components, or just taking advantage of elemental weaknesses, is far and away some of the most engaging combat in the open world realm.
