About this deal

The monitor also features Gorilla Glass with the DXC Anti-Reflective treatment for better reflection handling, support for pixel-perfect integer scaling and a 3-year warranty (2-year warranty for burn-in, zero bright dot pixel policy). It’s factory-calibrated at Delta E < 5, which is more than good enough for basic content creation and gaming, but for high-end professional work, you’ll need a colorimeter to improve the accuracy a bit. All of this performance is available at a typical power consumption level for a 32" 4K panel, it's not the most efficient option we've seen, but I don't have any complaints given it sits somewhere in the middle. For full screen sustained brightness the 32GQ950 is a decent monitor offering 650 nits of brightness, which is similar to other products but not as good as the best LCDs. Peak flash brightness increases to 1175 nits, which is very good. 10% window brightness sits around 1000 nits too, so again this display is very much capable of the 1000 nits it advertises. The difference between sustained and peak brightness is typically around 400 nits at or below 25% window sizes, while the gap closes at smaller windows to the point where there's not much difference.

LG 32GQ950 Review 2023: Is It Worth It? - DisplayNinja

While at around 100Hz we start to see some inverse ghosting, it's minimal and even at 60Hz with a 32% inverse ghosting rate, the actual artifacts you'll see can be hard to spot - this is due to cumulative deviation figures that aren't wildly out of control on average. Across all these refreshes we see around 4ms response time performance which is really solid. Both monitors are using LG DIsplay's OLED panel and will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and a response time of 0.1ms. As far as ports go, both will include two HDMI 2.1 ports, making these suitable monitors take advantage of next-gen consoles along with one DisplayPort 1.4 and USB port. This is the combination of specifications many gamers have been waiting for, and while some users might have preferred a 4K model, 1440p will still look rather sharp and crisp on the monitor’s 26.5″ viewable screen with 110.8 PPI (pixels per inch). At 120Hz which is a typical console refresh rate, the LG 32GQ950 is excellent and delivers great speed from an LCD. This is a well suited monitor for both PC and console use. At 60Hz we also see good performance with low overshoot, I'd have this right up there as far as 4K LCDs go, LG has done a great job with performance tuning.

Samsung's Odyssey Neo G8 is a 4K monitor (3840 x 2160) with a 1000R curve. Samsung notes it is the first 4K screen with a refresh rate of 240Hz and a response time of 1ms, offering the fastest and most responsive times for those that want the best while gaming. Whether you like Nvidia G-Sync or AMD FreSync Premium Pro, the monitor supports both tech. For color performance the 32GQ950 has very similar wide gamut capabilities to other LG monitors using LG panels. We get 98% DCI-P3 coverage, which is dead on what LG claims and a great result for that color space and a lot of wide gamut content. However there's no meaningful extension into Adobe RGB, so it's not a great monitor if you need that color space. Overall we get 76% Rec. 2020 coverage which these days is a good but mid table result. Default Color Performance Further, the IPS panel ensures 178° wide viewing angles with no brightness, contrast, gamma or color shift at skewed viewing angles. Thanks to its wide color gamut and consistent colors, the 32GQ950 is suitable for professional color-critical work. Alternatively, you can use LG’s On-Screen Control or UltraGear Control Center desktop applications to make the adjustments via your keyboard/mouse. Dell revealed the AW3225QF 32″ 4K 240Hz curved and the AW2725DF 27″ 1440p 360Hz flat-screen QD-OLED gaming monitors. On average across the refresh range the 32GQ950 performs well. While it is a mid-table performer using the Normal setting, it has exceptionally low overshoot. It's roughly 50% faster than older 32-inch 4K monitors like the Asus PG32UQ and MSI MPG321UR-QD, while also delivering less overshoot, so that's an excellent result. All of the monitors that beat it in response times have higher overshoot, except OLEDs, of course, and if we had used the Fast mode instead of Normal mode it would have come close to matching the Neo G7. The main difference between the two is that the Predator XP32 includes Nvidia G-Sync support and Nvidia Reflex, making this a good monitor for those that play a lot of first-person shooters like Valorant. While the XP32 FP includes AMD FreeSync Pro, USB-C power delivery support, and an HDMI 2.1 port, allowing you to game at 4K 120Hz when connecting a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or a graphics card that supports the HDMI 2.1, like the GeForce RTX 3080. At the rear of the monitor, there’s a hexagon RGB LED pattern that can glow in 21 different colors and various patterns. However, unlike LG’s previous RGB implementations (Sphere Lighting), it cannot be synchronized with on-screen video and audio.

LG UltraGear™ UHD 4K Gaming Monitor | 32GQ950-B | LG UK

For general screen uniformity the 32GQ950 is above average though standard LCD issues appear like a bit of falloff around the edges, and a slight color tint difference between different areas on the display. A good result, though this can vary from unit to unit. HDR Performance Next, the LG UltraGear 32GQ950 can get quite bright with a 450-nit SDR peak brightness and an excellent minimum brightness of around 15-nits. So, it’s suitable for comfortable use in both very dark and very bright rooms. Added the LG 27GR95QL, the League of Legends version of the LG 27GR95QE 1440p 240Hz OLED gaming monitor. Further, it has 4K UHD resolution, which will look very sharp even at this screen size due to the high pixel density of roughly 116 PPI (pixels per inch).Unfortunately, Samsung has yet to share pricing and release dates for both the Odyssey Neo G8 and Odyssey Ark.
