About this deal

Based on your narrow down choices I agree, I think it’s MaxV or i7+ / m6. I think the question is do you want the self empty dust bin or not? If not, go MaxV. If you do, go i7+ / m6.

Although it looks pretty different, the cleaning performance was actually quite similar between these two models. As someone with long hair, I would recommend going with the ones that have a cleaning brush with detachable tips. This would be the S4 Max, S5 Max, and the whole S6 Series. Also, have a look at the S7. Scheduling. You can set the time and day when the robot should clean, there is also an option of choosing cleaning mode but what is most important, you can set which room it has to clean. Max mode: Max mode cleans at the highest suction power for high traffic areas, dense carpets, or just maximum ‘boost’ performance. That said, running in Max mode will result in a shorter run time and less area covered.

Water tank. The Q7 Max+ has a bigger electric water tank. The Q7+ has a switch with two mopping modes that has to be toggled manually. The only I-series in the “budget” or entry-level category are the variants without the self-emptying base station. Hi, I am looking to buy a robotic vac, but need your help. Our house is approx 1800 square feet single story all floors are wooden or tiles. Would consider moping if it does a decent job. Would value your advice before we spend a considerable amount of money. Reply The Roomba 980 has the longest claimed run time at 120 minutes, thanks to the 3600 mAh battery and the slightly lower airflow versus the S9+.

I tested the E4 on stuff like Quaker oats, coffee, quinoa, pet litter, sand, hair, Cheerios, and Fruit loops. However, you can use the more advanced Braava m6 with the flagship Roomba robots together…basically you can start a mopping task after a vacuuming task has completed. The E4 was decent, with most of the hair going into the dustbin. Unfortunately, portions of the seven-inch strands got caught up around the edge of the brush. A dedicated mode to create a map helps immensely since iRobot products have a shorter range. 3. Self-Emptying The bumper allows the E4 to gently bump into obstacles and change directions without damaging the vacuum or the object in the way. Which controls are on top of the robot?iRobot’s premium-level robots are limited to two primary models – the S9 and the J7 series. A new J7 option will be released soon with a hybrid functionality.

iRobot first introduced this technology with the Roomba 980 and, from there onwards, further enhanced its algorithm, culminating with the J7’s obstacle avoidance technology. So far, the king of obstacle-avoiding robots is the Roomba J7+. I have not tested specific variants like the Ecovacs X1 Omni, so take this with a grain of salt. 6. Map Saving Essentially, we test on 3 different floor types. On each floor type we spread 4 different debris on those floors, run the vacuum, and then measure the debris (by weight) removed by the vacuum. That then becomes the cleaning scores for each floor type and the 3 floor types become the total average cleaning score.Status indicator light - This is the LED on the top of your vacuum. The color changes depending on the status of your vacuum.

The S series robots are guided by Lidar. Lidar ensures efficient navigation, allows the robot to work in the dark, and builds an accurate map. These robots are gentle with obstacles having smooth navigation and rarely get lost as the result are better for big houses. Those also save more than one map which makes them suitable for multi-level houses. You can guide the robot to clean a particular room if needed, set no-go (no-mop) zones, or zoned cleaning. In short, everything you can’t do with the E series.I’m tending towards one of the Roomba top models due to the better cleaning capability. However, the considerably lower run time makes me hesitate. Ideally, I want the robot to clean the entire apartment on one charge. So this guide has run through the specs, features, and performance. Still wondering what robot vacuum is right for you? Please use the comment form below to send us your question. The differences are primarily cosmetic and accessory inclusions out of the box, so if you’re interested, get the cheapest option available. This feature is more of a necessity for Roomba since their products use a lower-capacity lithium-ion battery that doesn’t run as long.
