About this deal

This saw offers a lot of features for a lot of people. However, the manufacturer had professionals in mind when they designed it.

The Makita LS1018LN 240V 260mm Slide Compound Mitre Saw Laser will prove valuable to professionals such as carpenters and kitchen fitters. The powerful 240V motor has an input wattage of 1430W and a no load speed of 4300rpm to make short work of crosscuts and mitre cuts. This saw excels at cutting through wider materials and structures, such as boards and frames, thanks to its 260mm blade with a 30mm bore diameter. The individual leg height can be adjusted to ensure stand stability and when folded for easy transportation this lightweight 15.3kg stand has built in casters and a carry handle. Have just submitted a warranty claim to Makita for defective materials. This is not 'normal wear and tear', as these parts are supposed to be protected from corrosion to an extent. It also can handle a 45° miter cut thru an 8-1/2″ board. So again, really good capacities on the crosscut. However it’s decently priced, and DIYers, hobbyists, and woodworkers can also get great benefits from this toolThis Makita miter saw stands out for professionals and for other fields of woodworkers. It is capable of working with a variety of different needs and that is perhaps why it’s such a great power tool. It doesn’t have a laser and the dust collection is just standard but remember that the saw itself was built for accuracy so you should be ok without that laser. Smooth & Accurate: This miter saw is genuinely precise. It’s designed to make accuracy a breeze. This means lining up for your cut and then making the cut are smooth. This is in part thanks to linear ball bearing system on the miter saw. The other thing that some people see as a con is the fact that this saw has no laser guide. Remember, Makita designed the saw for accuracy. Lasers are not always required. They just might make you feel more confident in your work. Do you know you can tilt the cross-cut saw head to both horizontal and vertical planes with the MAKITA? This tool is exceptionally adjustable, eliminating the need to tilt the beam or plank for minor cuts.

Makita LS1018 Mitre saw comes with double sliding rails with linear ball bearings on each rail to ensure a perfectly smooth and accurate cut. I attach 2 sets of wood screwed to the fence which serve as zero clearance kerf boards for both, 0 and 90 deg cuts and that works well. After setting the unit up as per the manual to register all cutting planes at 90 degrees, no problems. In most cases, the left will be a lesser angle. This is true here but the left still allows for a 47-degree adjustment. The right tilt angle allows for up to 60 degrees, which is substantial. Both sides have multiple tilt stops along the way to the max. Makita LS1018 Review Pros Looks the part and cuts great.Theres a few jealous chippies on my job.All the sliding parts glide smoothly,Highly recommend this saw for any serious carpenter. Please note the stand is supplied alone without any tools as per the product images which are for illustration purposes only
