There are many theories as to where the 7UP takes its name from. Some say this is a reference to the number of ingredients in its original recipe, with UP referring to the lift provided by the lithium citrate in the original drink. Others have claimed this could be a result of 7UP originally being bottled in seven-ounce bottles, while competitor soft drinks were bottled in six-ounce bottles. Our unique blend of two sugars provides a balanced flavour and reduces crystallisation, which results in less waste and mess. Today, Gatorade is available widely in major retailers and is the sports drink chosen by more professional athletes than any other brand, including football teams such as Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool FC, the NFL and the NBA to name a few. Our story started in 1938 as a product that was an affordable source of vitamins to the Great British public. In 2007, Britvic bought the soft drinks arm of C&C, a company which was originally founded in the 1800s by Dr Thomas Cantrell. Cantrell was a chemist at Grattan & Co, which also manufactured soft drinks and introduced the first carbonated ginger ale. Natural Tea, available under the Maguary brand, was acquired by Britvic in 2015. Its mission is to 'inspire people to live in balance and enjoy their moments of tranquillity with the perfect harmony between lightness, refreshment and the taste of herbal tea flavoured with different fruit combinations'.

Britvic was originally established as the British Vitamin Products Company to bring an affordable source of vitamins to the people of Britain. It originally sold tomato juice in 1938, which was then followed by pineapple, grapefruit and orange juice. It is now one of the most trusted names in cold beverages and has an enormous range of drinks.The first phase of the Thrive On campaign led by Idris Elba reached 31 million consumers globally in 2016.
