Cyclomethicone is not one type of silicone, but a whole mixture of them: it's a mix of specific chain length (4 to 7) cyclic structured silicone molecules. I do not smell anything chemical out of it. The sunscreen has a silicon-y feel maybe because it’s a physical sunscreen and it is supposed to coat the skin to protect it from the sun. The texture is otherwise very smooth to work with. It spreads easily. Initially, there is some white cast, but it vanishes away if I massage is nice. It leaves skin totally matte that I can put on makeup over it. My Experience With La Shield FISICO Sunscreen GelOctocrylene: Another UVB filter that also helps stabilize the formula and enhance overall sun protection.
