About this deal

In this respect it’s like the Schon, but unlike the Schon the Supra is actually a convertable, extendable pen, too.

Fireblu2 is the better fireblu texture. - Doom General

Because hands come in so many sizes and preferences vary so widely, I can see the Supra being an attractive option to a wider audience. Perhaps a couple sharing the pen? A growing child? Someone who likes both very long and very short pens? I can’t think of many situations where it would be necessary. Rather, the Supra is an impressive looking pen that can transform into several different pens. Excellent nibs, the tiny size and sturdy metal construction combine to make these Liliputs the best portable fountain pen I’ve ever used. I’d love to have one to carry around. If I were at my desk I probably wouldn’t choose the Liliput to draft a long document; it’s a little thin for extended writing, for me. But horses for courses. I received a Kaweco Supra Fireblue on loan a few weeks ago. Thank you to Appelboom for lending it to Well-Appointed Desk! My Stainless Steel Liliput came with a medium nib and the Fireblue with an extra-fine, both of which were good writers. Liliput nib units are the same as those on the AL-Sport, AC-Sport and Dia2 line, and can be easily unscrewed and interchanged with the nib units of any of those pens. Not with the larger Supra, of course. The finishing and construction overall feels great, a precision product. All the sections fit together well, seamless joins are really seamless, weight and balance are good (if you like metal pens).Aesthetics are subjective, but I think the Supra is beautiful. Extended it’s nicely proportioned, and the larger nib size balances the size of the pen. The sleek shape is enhanced by the understated markings. But the unposted pen feels much nicer. Unposted, the Supra weighs 42g (1.48 ounces) so it still feels hefty, but the length is cut down to around 12.5cm (5.25 inches). Holding the pen with no middle section and unposted made my hand feel cramped and awkward. Not something I would ever enjoy using. This Fireblue pen is constructed from tempered steel and features a spectacular finish. Each pen is hand-torched, giving it a unique pattern of enchanting colors ranging from light brown to purple to blue. Due to this color variation, the pen you receive will have its own unique look which may differ in color from the pens pictured. When the metal extension is removed, the brass Supra shrinks to a length closer to the two small Kaweco Liliputs, though wider. That extra diameter adds some writing comfort.

The Supra nib unit is a bigger version of the convenient screw-in/screw-out nib unit found on all Kaweco pens above the basic range. My Supra had a fine nib, which was extremely smooth with good ink flow. The combination of large nib and weighty pen made the Supra a really fun writer. There is hope, yay! The Precious Heat is much much better than the Ordinary Heat, and it can be applied only to hand-crafted items made of Precious Steel, sourced from the core of a male unicorn's horn. I don’t want to slight the Stainless Steel Liliput. The Stainless Steel is quieter, but what I liked about the Stainless Steel Liliput was how sleek and minimal the pen looked. The simplicity of the material brings the shape and form of the Liliput to the fore.We cannot guarantee items that are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery 1pm will arrive the next day before 1pm on Saturdays as this is affected by your local sorting office. The Supra has a screw-in metal extension to make the pen longer, which can be removed if you want a shorter pen. In the above photo, the Supra is full-size with the extension between the section and the rest of the pen body. I am not sure if anyone has had one of these pens long enough to know one way or the other, or if someone with experience with annealed metal can tell us, but I, too, am curious about this. After all, if it does fade, the price premium for this finish is hardly worth it..... tinta - I know what you mean. I would rather have the copper one than the plain stainless (silver) one, but I am afraid that no matter what, a Liliput of some sort is going to find its way to me!
