About this deal

Perhaps the most striking thing is how much better the KSC75 sound than how they look. The KSC75 sound surprisingly refined and balanced for their modest price. Where to Buy The Porta Pro share the same cable as the KSC75, but in every other way, they are better built, more attractive, and offer greater comfort than their ear-clipped relations. If you prefer the Porta Pro sound but want a midrange price point and ear clips, the Bluetooth KSC35 are a viable option. And I’m not going to argue with them. This driver has been a budget audiophile favorite for almost 40 years. Did I mention that I broke 2 of the 3 pegs trying to get the KPH30i open? Only the bottom right side still has the original snap peg. Blue tape seems to be holding them together just fine. I know, that you know, that I know you know, that I like the 60ohm, 35mm Koss driver. A lot. It’s INCONCEIVABLE that you do not. Princess Bride humor aside, what differentiates the KSC75 driver from the one found in the Porta Pro or KSC35 is titanium.

The KPH30i use the same non-coated version of the driver shared by the Porta Pro amongst others. KPH30i Sound

Where there is still bass presence and a dash of treble sparkle where it is needed. Instrument separation is great since the frequencies don’t tend to bleed into each other. So details tend to become quite clear, and pleasurable. These headphones are not that hard to drive, at 60Ω, and 101dB SPL, I can even drive them off a smartphone. You won’t get the best of them through your phone though, as driving them with better gear does have its benefits. Their light weight goes a long way to maintaining wearing comfort. Although I prefer a traditional headband, the KSC75 ear clips are reasonably easy to wear for moderately long listening sessions.

As with all the headphones sharing this venerable driver, the KPH30i offer far more than they cost. Like the Porta Pro® Classic headphones, the Porta Pro® Wireless Bluetooth headphones have adjustable temporal pads to relieve pressure on the ears. Its lightweight, open-air cushions for hear-through sound keep listeners aware of their surroundings while delivering exceptional sound performance. Oxygen free copper voice coils and dynamic elements allow the Porta Pro® Wireless Bluetooth headphones to deliver rich bass and a remarkably wide frequency response.Incorporated a neodymium, rare earth magnet and 16-micron mylar diaphragm for deep bass and treble clarity Originally introduced in 1984, the Koss Porta Pro® has stood the test of time due to its impressive performance and portability. Equipped with dynamic elements that deliver a wide frequency response and deep bass, Porta Pro® offers remarkable sound reproduction producing a rich, detailed audio experience that enhances the enjoyment of music across various genres. The KSC75 can be driven sufficiently from any device with a decent headphone output, and pairing them with a source that is many magnitudes of cost more expensive doesn’t seem to improve the sound significantly. A close look at the KSC75. Bass The Porta Pro® Wireless Bluetooth headphones feature a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can last 12+ hours. In terms of sound, it’s evident that the 2 headphones share a lot of their DNA. They have similar sound stage and clarity, but they differ quite a bit in sound signature. While the Porta Pro’s will be a bass head’s dream, the KPH30i tends to sound a bit more mature, with a more balanced overall sound signature, giving it much more versatility in terms of what genres it will play nicely with.

In-Line controls on the Porta Pro® Wireless Bluetooth headphones allow users to wirelessly change songs, answer/end calls, change volume, and much more*. The acclaimed Koss Porta Pro® has captivated audiophiles and music enthusiasts for decades and continues to be one of the most popular headphones worldwide. The Porta Pro are warm-sounding headphones with far more prominent bass than the KSC75. Where the KSC75 have more upper energy and seem slightly more resolving, the Porta Pro have more presence, although with bass heavy music they can tend towards boominess and bloom. I find the Porta Pro to have superior sonic balance and are a better match for my tastes. Many have extolled the virtues of these headphones that cost about the same as a lunch for two at your favorite fast food joint. It’s time to find out if the KSC75 are the giant killers they are said to be. Do they really sound good enough to put headphones many times their price to shame? How do they compare to their numerous brothers and sisters sharing the same driver? In the late 1970s, to accommodate rapid growth, Koss moved to its present location on the north side of Milwaukee. [ citation needed]The pads are also slightly bigger, giving the KPH30i a slight edge on the overall comfort. I believe that the comfort of the KPH30i is more suited for long listening sessions than the Porta Pro.
