About this deal

When it comes to style, there are also many slipper options that are attractive enough to wear outdoors, like our favorite fashion slipper, the Birdies Phoebe Faux Fur Mule. Fashionable slippers like this pair with rubber soles often come at a higher price, but because they can be worn indoors and out, they increase their wear-time, therefore justifying a higher spend.

If you love a cozy slipper on a cold night but always find yourself sweaty after a few hours, these slippers we tested are for you. The material is 100 percent Turkish cotton, which is similar to a towel, so it will absorb your feet’s moisture making them ideal for stepping out of the shower. We found that these never felt sweaty or uncomfortable, but would reach for another slipper on particularly chilly winter days. On the other hand, some shearling or faux fur options can look matted or show wear after months of use. We found this with our favorite moccasins, the Minnetonka Women’s Cally Faux Fur Slipper, which mats and molds to your foot over time. However, this rarely affects the comfort of the shoe. Also, a quality rubber sole, seen on many Ugg slippers and our best wool option, Allbirds Wool Dwellers, is a way to ensure great traction and that your feet stay firmly planted on the ground.

Office also has a great selection, including brand new designs like their adorable Maxi Curli Sliders in Echinacea aka the most coveted shade of pink. The hard sole can take a few days to get used to, but the durability and warmth of this choice make it worth the buy. After three months of daily wear, the lining has matted and worn down by the heel, which is to be expected with constant use. Still, they feel just as comfortable and warm as the first time we wore them. The sole is made from sustainable FSC-certified natural rubber, so you won’t slip on any surface, and you could wear them outdoors as well. We tested these over the course of four months and found that over time, the soles wore down quite a bit, leading to discoloration, especially near the heel. The polyester lining felt less and less soft as you wore them, but the upper remained clean and attractive. If they do get dirty you can easily wash them in the washing machine, which we love for any slipper. We loved the stylish design of the UGG Tasman Slipper, earning them our best overall spot. The comfortable fur molds to your foot while still feeling breathable, and we love that they can be worn both indoors and outdoors. To keep your feet warmer in the winter, opt for a shearling option like the Dearfoams Shelly Beach Genuine Shearling Scuff Slippers, which have a rubber outer sole for ultimate durability. How We Tested the Slippers

When it comes to cosiness, Ugg is unparalleled and if you weren't aware, their slipper range has grown massively in the last few years and you can now get every colour from brown to electric green, as well as numerous styles. Our biggest gripe with these slippers is that they are very difficult to get on the first few times you wear them, especially if you have very high arches. Similar to the other Ugg slippers we tested, there is a bit of a break-in period as you wait for the fur to mat and mold to your foot. Once they are on, these slippers are incredibly comfortable. We walked for a full day throughout New York City without an issue. Allbirds’ commitment to comfort and sustainability comes through in the brand’s signature slipper, the Wool Dwellers. We found that the upper, made from recycled wool scraps, felt cozy without making our feet sweat. What’s more, the cushioned insole feels like walking on a plush carpet. The slip-on design is undeniably convenient, and we found ourselves reaching for these again and again throughout the day. Moccasins are a great house shoe option because they don’t have a hard sole and keep your feet warm and snug during the snow season. A leader in the moccasins market, Minnetonka combines comfort and function with the Cally Faux Fur Slippers we loved during testing. The classic suede design looks sleek and sophisticated but also comes in fun patterns and colors to elevate any work-from-home outfit. We found that they can feel a bit tight when you first put them on, but the break-in period occurs almost instantly as the fur molds to your feet. The snugness also keeps the slippers from falling off as you walk, which we love as opposed to a classic slide style. No matter the material, all slippers will begin to wear down over time. Therefore, "Slippers, just like shoes, should be monitored regularly for signs of wear," Dr. Sutera shares. "Slippers should be replaced usually at the year mark, or even sooner if the slippers are worn out. Turn the slippers over to examine the soles and also do my ‘tabletop test’ by looking at them at eye level on a flat surface such as a tabletop. If they are uneven, worn, or deformed- they must be replaced." This ensures your slippers actually provide the support they are meant to provide throughout their lifespan. To keep them in tip-top shape, we recommend spraying them with a protective spray, especially in the case of inclement weather ( Ugg makes their own). The rubber bottom provides ample support for carpet, hardwood, and city streets. They also keep your feet warm without feeling sweaty, but we wouldn’t wear them during the spring or summer (though we wish we could because they are so stylish and match almost every outfit). Unsurprisingly, Ugg makes some of our favorite slippers, including this classic slip-on style, the Scuff Sis Slipper. We tested these slippers for four weeks and were blown away by how comfortable they were and how well they fit. As with all Uggs, they may feel a bit snug at first, however, as you wear them, the fur mats down and contours to your foot for a perfect fit. Other Uggs tend to feel heavy, but we found these to be rather lightweight, causing us to forget we even had them on.
