About this deal

Top tip from testing: These eco firelighters will even light damp charcoal – couldn’t believe it myself but after actually doing it I have to say, it changed the game for me. No more paper, kindling wood, and hard times getting a charcoal bbq going. I am now up and running in less than ten minutes everytime! The Natural Eco Wood Firelighters last for 5 to 8 minutes with a strong flame all the way through that period

The only thing I’ll say is that these ones do have a slight smell when they’re not in use but having burnt them I can say they don’t carry a chemical smell once actually burning. Overall, these are definitely a great option to consider for their price, I would just say that the price is slightly reflected in the quality compared to the Flamers products, for example. However, these are still very impressive and a great cheaper option.

With this box, you get 200 firelights with only one fire lighter needed at a time to start your fire if you’ve got some kindling. The Natural Eco Wood Firelights are great value for money for the amount you get.

The details state that they’ve been dipped in paraffin wax, which you can see as they are reasonably dense and stay together well. Just don’t crush them too much (obvious, I know but worth drawing attention to) as they will crumble slightly and could come apart.

Just a word of advice here you lovely lot: we would recommend keeping your firelighters natural if possible – especially if you are cooking or grilling. Many firelighters contain chemical agents, accelerants and other things that will seriously affect the taste and chemical content of your food. For normal fires you can get away with synthetic firelighters, but why wouldn’t you want to keep things as natural as possible if you can? Great, so you’re digging the natural vibe, but what are the options out there? Hang tight as we give you the natural firelighter product low down.Really happy with these – as you can see in the video they just go. There’s no trouble getting a fire alight and keeping it that way – a little smoke off the bat but you get that with all charcoal bbq’s! I’d suggest maybe getting hold of another box (perhaps fireproof) to store a smaller amount near the fire or barbecue if you’re a seasoned fire starter so you don’t have to keep the large box anywhere.
