About this deal

Each player is a brave (or stupid) burglar, risking Nictotraxian’s wrath to enter her dungeon and steal her precious artifacts. If you’re skilful enough you could escape with an extraordinary tale to tell and wealth to last the rest of your days! This information from the publishers is the best glimpse we have into the world of Clank! Legacy so far:

In a 5 to 6 player game, some cards are added in with the expansion that give you rewards when something happens on another players turn. This system is fantastic and means you have to be engages at all times so you do not miss any extra things for yourself. I love this system and think it is super smart! The catacombs of the skeletal dragon Umbrok Vessna are mysterious and dangerous. Portals transport you all around the dungeon depths. Wayshrines offer vast riches to intrepid explorers. Prisoners are counting on you to free them. Ghosts, once disturbed, may haunt you to death. Skill, represented by a number in a blue diamond, is the main currency in Clank! It's used to buy cards from the Dungeon Row and the Reserve which have a cost in their top right corner. When you buy a card from the Dungeon Row, it is only replaced by a new one at the end of the turn. Any cards you buy go straight to your discard pile, though some cards have an 'Acquire' effect that activates immediately.

Clank! Review – with Tom Vasel

Sunken Treasures also starts the trend of making gold easier to come by, whether it’s through finding a gold cavern or defeating the persistent Goldfish monster instead of the Goblin for three coins. More coins mean you can buy more great stuff and have more fun! The Mummy’s Curse Expansion The second large expansion for Clank! was released in 2018, taking players out of the briney deep and thrusting them into the equally inhospitable Egyptian tombs. In The Mummy's Curse, players have a roaming mummy to battle as they run around the interior of pyramids and sphinxes. While the gold they can gain may be more tempting than ever, they need to watch out for painful curses... In the four years since Warcry released, Games Workshop has teased us with about two new Chaos Dwarf models and (unsurprisingly) has yet to produce full rules for Dawi-Zharr warbands. I have finally...

Accumulate enough points with your Artifact and other loot to beat out your opponents and earn the title of Greatest Thief in the Realm! Combat: Used to defeat monsters in the dungeon row (defeating monsters gives rewards of various resources) or monsters in tunnels. You can also use the cards to play against two other players. The rules are included in the PDF files in the link above. Thomas Sidener Solo Version If you die in the subterranean levels or without an artifact, you’re completely dead. You lose all your points. If you ‘die’ above ground, helpful villagers will save you! You’ll keep the points you’ve gained so far, but you won’t get the 20 point bonus given to any player who gets out unscathed. Before you can get started with Clank! there's a bit of set-up that needs to happen. First, you have to choose which map you want to play - if it's your first time, you should use the more basic game - then you need to lay out all the necessary tiles. This means randomly placing one major secret on each of their spots spot and two minor secrets on each minor spot. You'll also need to choose and place out the artefact tokens (five for two players, six for three players or all of them for four players). Finally, place the Monkey Idols on their spaces and place all other tokens within easy reach of the board.Arrive Choice. These new cards present options to all of the players when they arrive in the dungeon row. Sometimes it will be a choice of spending gold for a benefit which you can refuse or sometimes it will be a choice between two options, at which point every player must choose one of the options but they don’t have to be the same as each other. It’s My Party And I Will Bring Unique Powers If I Want To Other than the legacy expansion, my hunch is that we’ll see at least one other expansion, possibly two more. I would be surprised if Renegade and Dire Wolf don’t release a second Expeditions expansion, and I also think it’s possible that we’ll see a new large expansion in the vein of Sunken Treasures and The Mummy’s Curse. Note: The official solo version of Clank! uses a mobile app. The rules detailed below have been created by fans of the game. It uses 9 extra cards instead of the mobile app. If a player hits 10 damage, one of two things happen. If they're in the subterranean part of the dungeon, below the grassline, they die in the dragon's jaws. This means they're out of the game and get no points. If a player is above ground, however, daring villagers manage to save you and you can keep all the points you've gained up to that point. The end of the game

Make some noise! A new version of Clank! has been announced - this time returning to the dungeon delving origins in Clank! Catacombs. Dire Wolf released the following about the new standalone game in the Clank! series: Dire Wolf has been responsible for a number of acclaimed digital board game adaptations, including the Golden Geek Award-winning adaptations of Everdell and Root, along with the popular recent releases of Munchkin, Sagrada, Wings of Glory, and others. The Clank! mechanic, where some cards generate Clank! cubes, is also very effectively used to balance more powerful card effects. Cards that would otherwise be under-costed, often generate Clank! as a way to offset their greater power. It also adds interesting decisions for players who have to weigh up how many cubes they want to risk going into the dragon bag. I’ve found that different people will naturally be more or less averse to taking these risky cards, which creates a great opportunity for each player to play the game in a way they enjoy. The rules are very comprehensive and include full details of how to set the game up for a 5 or 6 player experience. There are not that many differences and you can easily be ready to go in just a few minutes by following the rule book. If you're not putting much Clank! in the bag, you're less likely to die a painful death. While it might seem unavoidable to play your basic Stumble cards or even Dungeon Row cards that generate Clank!, there are many ways to mitigate its impact. Cards that let you discard from your hand, like Sleight of Hand, are favourites of mind as this means you don't actually have to play the discarded cards. Some other effects in the game will allow you to trash your Stumbles, while other cards will give you negative Clank!, actually taking it away from the banner (but not the bag). Every so often a game comes along that completely changes your attitudes to a genre or a game mechanic. I have several friends who previously wouldn’t look twice at a game with a zombie theme but who love Dead of Winter. For me, Clank! was a similar epiphany game. Grab at least one artifact before booking it for the exit. Naturally, the most valuable artifacts are deeper down in the depths. Cards that generate gold (the coins, not the blue skill currency) are easy to undervalue because gold has limited use in the game. It's also easy to underestimate the value of killing monsters that drop a lot of gold. However, having easy access to gold is a great way to gain some powerful items from the market and give yourself a little points boost at the end of the game.

Retrieve an Artifact token and escape the dragon by returning to the place you started, outside of the dungeon. Before you start playing, you need to set-up the board. You can choose either the beginner’s dungeon or the more advanced dungeon on the flip side of the board. You then assign tokens representing artifacts, hidden secrets and a couple of other valuable items to their places, which are all clearly marked on the board and labelled in the rule book. The number of artifacts changes slightly with the number of players to keep the games competitive. If you like Clank!, you’ll certainly like Clank! in Space. The gameplay differences are slight so you probably don’t need both versions, but many Clank! fans won’t let that stop them from buying this one too. You are getting so much in this expansion that the best way to describe it is like a party in a box.A large part of the enjoyment in a game like Clank! comes from discovering strategies and ideas for yourself, but there are a few things you can be aware of to make those first games go a bit more smoothly and gain an edge over the competition. Buy movement cards The aim of the game is to get into the dungeon, grab at least one artifact, and get out without dying. The winner is the player with the most points at the end (although it’s possible for all players to lose, more on that shortly). When the 10th damage icon is placed on the second player, the player has left the dungeon. They do not need the artifact to exit. The cards in both versions of the game all have icons representing their value in acquiring other cards, movement and/or combat. The publishers ( Renegade Game Studios) have cheekily retained the same movement and combat icons in Clank! in Space that they used in the original Clank! The rule book may describe the swords as ‘laser swords’ but they look rather more like medieval shortswords than lightsabres.
