About this deal

Also, in the author's note she mentions something about this being a treatise about race/class/whatever. Nah, it doesn't even come close to going there. The not knowing was sort of like when you first started watching Lost and you knew something was in the jungle, but you could never tell what it is. I liked that, but eventually as you discover the truth behind the park, it could have gone deeper into those elements. Joanna is horrified by this and starts to look into it; her in laws knew Lily’s parents and a lot of the neighbours remember the Murphy family also, so Joanna is not short of people to chat to about it, but what really spurs her on to uncover the decades-old mystery is her realisation that the photos of three year old Lily look very familiar to her indeed.

Personalized Dragon Story Book - Kids , Christening, Baptism, New baby and baby birthday, Christmas Eve Box Fillers, Ideas I loved this book! As I mentioned on my stories, I started reading it on the plane home from Tenerife. As it was an evening flight I had a little doze and had a dream involving ALL of the characters in the book! Completely invested in the storyline, and I had only just started it! Modern twist on a legend in Greek mythology (not telling though). Throw in a bit of Hunger Games and ready, set, go! Joanna thinks she may be remembering what happened to Lily, and her childhood self may have been involved. If all the world is hell and evil is all around them, what else can they do but try to help each other? This one grabbed my attention from the beginning. I was fully invested in knowing what was going on. Readers learn what is happening and yet, it only added to my enjoyment. With the descriptions, I could easily visualize what was happening in the book. I can see this being made into a movie.

i dont want this to turn into a massive rant, so i will try to keep my disappointments brief. - the direction the plot eventually goes in doesnt fit the tone the novel begins with Is it a perfect book? No. But it's an easy read with a unique concept, interesting characters, a creepy atmosphere, and social commentary sprinkled on top. I kept pausing my work to read a few more chapters because I needed to know how it ended! The cover truly does the book justice: very scary, and perfect for your kid reader who is ready for something spookier. You may guess something so sinister waiting for those guys at the amusement park. You’re absolutely right! May 1985: Lily Murphy (age 3) goes missing playing hide and seek in the woods near her home in South County Dublin (‘SoCoDu’) Thanks to Kids Can Press and NetGalley for the provided e-ARC and the opportunity to read this book. My review is honest, unbiased, and voluntary. #NetGalley #HideAndSeek
