In people who are over 90 years old, melatonin levels are less than 20% of young adult levels.
Spend time out of doors, especially in the afternoons if travelling West, and in the mornings if travelling East, as bright natural light helps with adjustment. Alternatively use a SAD light at these times. In addition to issues mentioned above, there are some things to consider regarding melatonin’s safety in children.Exogenous melatonin is a natural hormone when produced in the body (the endogenous hormone).
