About this deal

I’ve only fished a few rivers myself, and not many in ideal conditions, but I keep hearing the same rivers mentioned by others…. First of all after reading the June reports in the latest T&S I find it almost impossible to comprehend even with low water that a river like the Dovey had barely nothing to report in June A month that all over the U.K. would see fish well spread out by then and in the case of the Dovey the catches were too innumerable to mention anything less than three pounds

Forums Scotland Catch Reports | World Sea Fishing Forums

Traditional Irish salmon flies, commissioned one hundred and twenty years ago for the Cork International Exhibition in 1902, are set to feature in a new historical picture book to mark ‘World Book Day’. Of the rivers I’ve fished, the Dovey is probably my favourite for classic night fishing. Proper big holding pools on the lower river and well managed and run fishery. If a person puts the time in and learns the craft of catching salmon by reading the river, learning about the way nature works and understanding about rises and falls in both river level and temperature then massive respect to them. The World Salmon Forum is designed to bring together wild salmon conservation groups from around the world to share new policies and measures that will provide for the survival of these magnificent animals.

I suppose I can only answer with what I think, given I haven’t fished these rivers I’m gonna mention? A few more pics here: https://www.fishingthefly.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9859.msg77413#msg77413...

By popular request, a thread on bikes old and new, memories, trips, anything! It has been clear from other threads that there are some keen cyclists on here. That's my copy of Fly Culture Magazine popped through the letter box this morning, I'm looking forward to sitting down with it. I had a walk at the Green bus at Barvas. Have seen it on the telly and in books before and was amazed how short the pool is between loch and sea. Must be great to see fish attempting to come in on the tide. So I’d still like to say the Dovey but from what I can gather and have noticed for the past five years is that the river Spey has so many large accidentally caught sea trout from May onwards and still seems to have good night fishing in June for those who still take a week on Grantown, that I’m inclined to think it may be the Spey. Sea Angling Ireland • Index page

Ross Angling Club currently have a few rods available for salmon anglers at a cost considerably lower than many beats on the Wye. Ross beats are at the bottom end of the Wye just above Goodrich Court are as good as any other beat on the lower River especially as a spring fishery. Ross waters are often amongst the first to produce fish and anglers can fish every day of the week and are not limited to one day. Happy New Year to everyone, let's hope that this year we have perhaps something, anything, to shout about. Ross probably like many other fisheries has its one season fly by nights who take a permit expecting the salmon to come to them but we have lost some committed salmon anglers who for one reason or another have decided to throw in the towel on the Wye.The Yorkshire Esk is a river known for its sea trout and has the same run of large fish that you can expect on the Wear and other East Coast rivers. And yet the Angling reports from that river have usually been about fish caught on the mepps as I believe that river has a muddy colour that only in really low water has the clarity to fish the fly at night. Other Species Details of Saltwater Fly fishing, Grayling, Fly fishing for Coarse fish & Salmon fishing. A forum to discuss casting techniques and events. For the angler wishing to increase his distance and the tournament caster.
