As part of a porch renovation on her 1920s property, Joan from Bournemouth was keen to find a modern new door that would complete the project, as well as being in keeping with her home, and offering better energy efficiency. Joan comments:Our original porch and porch door was very old. The whole thing was wooden and, being on the north facing side of the house, weathered badly. We had replaced large sections of the porch’s wooden frames due to rot once already, but we had never replaced the door which had a single pane of glass and a big gap underneath. Along with other energy saving measures – including new double-glazed windows in the porch, and now a new fully-sealed door frame ¬– Joan was surprised by how much of a difference her new GRP door played a part in saving on her gas bills. Joan continues: As soon as the new Door-Stop and double glazing were installed in August 2021 we noticed just how much warmer our home was. What’s been great for us is that with all these elements together, our gas usage dropped by 22% - and with energy bills looking to keep on increasing, this saving is exactly what we need!
