About this deal

The author and subject were initially set to be revealed on 13 June: 13 is Swift’s favourite number, but the date is also the 10th anniversary of BTS’ first single, No More Dream. To keep the BTS inspiration going, here are books to read that will deliver upliftment and positive vibes. On days when we had a lot of rehearsals, we’d be working fourteen hours out of a twenty-four hour day. J-Hope was reading the book during BTS’ Love Yourself era and he mentioned in the broadcast that the book connected very well to the theme of their album.

The book's sales skyrocketed in South Korea after pictures of V holding the book circulated on the internet. It further adds the project’s aim to utilize hyperconnectivity in bringing a collective experience that might be the beginning of new communications between art, music, and people. Oldest member Jin sings this absolute anthem, whose central message boils down to one of the English lyrics from the chorus: “I’m the one I should love in this world.

We worked together so much and talked with each other so much that little by little, we really did feel we were becoming a team. Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS is written by journalist Myeongseok Kang with the seven members of the group – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook – and will be structured as an oral history of their story. I loved how they subverted my expectations of the things that a boy group would discuss in their songs. This particular story is about a teenager that goes by the name of Kafka; he runs away from home and has different experiences. Rather, it's a neatly produced puzzle piece in the overall mythology of BTS, the story about seven young men who signed up with a small entertainment company and then became the biggest band in the world.

RM has read “Those Who Walk Away from Omelas,” which is a story in that book, per SBS Australia and Soompi. It clearly tries to build this hero myth around the members of BTS, doing so mostly by boasting with numbers and surface-level beating-the-odds motivational clichés (an actual quote from the book: "– – BTS's accomplishments over those seven years followed the progression of what could almost be considered a classical hero narrative").I have no doubt the reason everything presented in the book feels vetted (even cautious and vague) is because of the attacks BTS have been victim of since the beginning — who can blame them for being so protective of their personal relationships or unflattering moments?

So being that I love books, I always hoped that one day we’d get an official book discussing their career and journey as a band. The book revolves around the topic of conversations and how people can learn to be more fluent and thoughtful speakers.

and I felt an extreme emotion, that in some ways everything I had done up until then had been worthless. From early on in BTS’s oeuvre, ‘Baepsae’ (to give the song its Korean title – in English it's 'Silver Spoon') is probably most famous for the moves the band executes when performing it.
