About this deal

Once I realised this was what I needed to do I found the energy to go out for a walk with him and from the start I brought up the topic. Sitting together on the cliffs looking out over the sea, as he told me more about his story, we both ended up crying and connecting. This was a beautiful, healing experience and a moment of reinforcing the link between mind and body – I felt so much better physically once I’d spoken my truth and been heard. I left feeling so much healthier and happier, and as though a layer of what was needed for me to recover had been resolved. Abigail’s bringing an abundance of food and supplies can teach us that the Savior offers to those who have been hurt and injured the sustenance and help we need to be healed and made whole. 7 We are not left to deal with the consequences of others’ actions on our own; we too can be made whole and given the chance to be saved from the weight of a warring heart and any actions that may follow. In January 2014, patients from Wikwemikong attending a methadone clinic in the town of Little Current, Ontario, (a 45-min drive from Wikwemikong), were informed of their clinic’s closure effective Feb. 15, 2014, owing to a new municipal zoning bylaw. The bylaw change stemmed from complaints by business owners in Little Current, who were worried the downtown clinic would drive customers away. In 1 instance, a physical altercation had occurred between patients in clear view of the public. In response to the closure, another clinic in Espanola, Ontario (a 1-hour drive), agreed to take on a limited number of new patients. The remaining patients were transferred to a clinic in Sudbury, Ontario (a 2-hour drive). 7 Homeopathic medicines promote the body’s natural ability to heal. When prescribed appropriately, they are safe, non-toxic and non-addictive. They can be taken alongside drugs prescribed by your doctor and will not interfere with their beneficial action. As your condition improves, you may be able to safely reduce your conventional medication, thereby avoiding the unwanted effects that sometimes accompany the long-term use of drugs. There was a time during my recovery journey where I felt really selfish because I was spending a lot of time doing inner work and meditation to recover. Eventually I realised that I wouldn’t be able to help others unless I healed myself first. With this in mind, my personal mantra, ‘be selfish so I can be selfless’ enabled me to devote enough time to my healing. With this in mind I encourage clients who don’t have support in their lives, to go out and find it. Depending on the severity of the illness, this won’t be an easy step, but isolation and loneliness will only make it even harder to heal. I get people to find whatever support and connection they can, even if initially it has to be primarily online.

What is The Healing Path?

The first stage of healing was to accept what is, for now. The more I could let go into surrender and acceptance, and practice gratitude, the more I was able to build a strong foundation to support a health recovery path. The 18 essential steps of The Healing Path with Educational Audios from Anthony William sharing Spirit’s vital information, much of which has never been shared before. I testify that the greatest example of love and forgiveness is that of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who in bitter agony said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” 23 The Healing Path Recipe Booklet of 30 original Medical Medium approved recipes to excite your taste buds. But Dr. Insel also found that we do have approaches that work, both in the U.S. and globally. Mental illnesses are medical problems, but he discovers that the cures for the crisis are not just medical, but social. This path to healing, built upon what he calls the three Ps (people, place, and purpose), is more straightforward than we might imagine. Dr. Insel offers a comprehensive plan for our failing system and for families trying to discern the way forward. This collaboration has continued for 7 years, integrating an enhanced Indigenous healing knowledge framework with biomedicine. The healing framework involves recognizing the physical aspects of healing and supporting the whole person’s recovery, which includes rebuilding broken families (resulting from addiction) and reintegrating clients into the community through employment, education or training. Clients partake in recovery with the support of community members who also participate in cultural activities. From the perspective of traditional healing, clients have an innate ability to heal themselves since they have a fire inside. They are rekindling this fire through reconnecting to land, family, community and overall personal empowerment to complement pharmacological healing options. Furthermore, for Naandwe Miikan, “… success is when the clients walk through the door,” thus, coming to terms with their addiction and venturing on their healing path. 3 The next challenge of the program is a comprehensive, self-determined data-driven evaluation. 3 This step draws on the power of belief and commitment to support recovery, and offers some tools to help in those moments of fear and doubt to return to a more resourceful place. Taken in the right way, this step is a foundation to a steadfast and gentle commitment to your healing. Please know that forgiving someone does not mean that you put yourself in a position where you will continue to be hurt. “We can work toward forgiving someone and still feel prompted by the Spirit to stay away from them.” 10 This article is a summary of my book You can heal chronic illness the lotus process: 8 steps to health and happiness. May it provide a roadmap for you or your clients, friends or family members for taking the journey from illness to health. It is based on the experience of my own journey from five years of disabling Chronic Fatigue Syndrome to vibrant health, and on those of clients and women in our Women’s Wellness Circle community.
