About this deal

Right off the bat, we'll tell you this: Using an ammonia-free glass cleaner is a must. Ammonia can break down window tint—especially the cheaper stuff—so if you're not a fan of the fishbowl look, stay away from ammonia. Most automotive glass cleaners are ammonia free and say so right on the bottle, but it's always a good idea to verify. Remove the final haze with a dry cloth or by sprinkling water onto the haze and wiping with a paper towel. We love that this spray is extremely easy to use: All you need to do is spray it on your windows, and wipe it clean with a towel. No buffing or elbow grease is required. After using this product, you should wait an hour before exposing it to rain and other elements. Please note that Rain-X is intended for exterior glass only; it should not be used on the paint or plastic surfaces of your vehicle.

Only intended for exterior car windows – while some people love to use this on their glass shower doors, the bottle cautions against using it on surfaces other than intended. But you can buy a shower door product from Rain X. There are three main types of glass cleaners–liquid, foam, and wipes–and each has its pros and cons. RainX helps repel water and is something I’ll use a lot during the winter months. But next time, I’ll clean my windshield with my homemade glass cleaner a day before using this. Visibility will be your number one priority if applying a rain repellent to a car. In the same way that visibility is no.1 when applying some de-icer. After all, the sole job of a rain repellent is road safety, keeping water from congregating on your windscreen. A good rain repellent will see rain beading straight off the windscreen, leaving the road ahead clear. A poor rain repellent may, however, leave a smear on the glass, particularly in sunny or low-light conditions. This hampers visibility when it’s not raining and is a fairly irritating thing to deal with. Apply with a dry cloth and wipe the Rain-X Rain Repellent in a circular, overlapping motion; once you’ve allowed the product to dry, re-apply again and, once the final coat is dry, remove the final layer with a dry cloth or a sprinkling of water. You'll also see ceramic glass cleaners pop up when searching around. These leave a hydrophobic film on your windshield that allows water droplets to slide right off, even to the degree where you don't need to use your wipers. While that sounds great, we found that it takes a bit more effort to properly apply, and there's no sense in using it on your other windows. Try Rain-X® 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner + Rain Repellent, the perfect product to improve your visibility in wet weather, whilst being simple to use! Our Glass Cleaner uses a unique technology that repels raindrops and beads up water, increasing your visibility in one easy step. And now, with our new and improved formula, it repels rain even better!

You should know that Weiman’s heavy-duty formula contains chemicals like polyethylene-polypropylene glycol and monosodium phosphate, so it’s not the best option if you prefer a natural product. With its chemical composition, it’s not surprising that this cleaner has a fairly strong smell. You may find it helpful to open a window or use your stovetop’s vent hood to eliminate fumes. And while this brand is significantly pricier than other options on our list, its triple cleaning action leaves cooktops spotless and sparkling clean. Taking Berry's advice into account, we researched a number of glass cleaners from a variety of brands, evaluating products based on their type, ingredients, scent, and overall performance. Here’s the good news: this product does repel moisture. I dumped water on both sides of my windshield, and it’s easy to tell which side I treated. Also, Hope’s requires fewer strokes to get the job done—just be sure to use a microfiber cloth. You can also use it on smartphones, tablets, televisions, and other electronics with a glass screen. Just be sure to spray it on a soft cloth rather than directly on your gadget. We noted that Hope’s glass cleaner is priced slightly higher than the competition, but we think the time and effort you'll save justifies the extra cost. If you live in an area with frequent rain, snow, or ice, you know how difficult seeing the road can be while driving. To find which product best cleans windows, we assembled 10 different cleaners and got to work. As we ran them through the Gear Team testing gauntlet, we determined which ones work best. Our Test Vehicles

Liquid glass cleaner is the most popular option on the market because it is easy to use and comes in handy for a variety of tasks. Most liquid glass cleaners come in spray bottles for convenient application. Some products can be applied directly to a surface. If you’re applying a liquid cleaner to a vertical glass surface, you can spray it onto a microfiber cloth to prevent it from dripping onto the floor or furniture below.Glass cleaners that contain dyes and synthetic chemicals tend to have a stronger and less pleasant scent. Products that derive their scent from natural ingredients, such as pine, eucalyptus, or peppermint are often more appealing. Of course, an unscented glass cleaner is the best solution for people sensitive to smells. Our top choice for tech screens, Whoosh! Screen Shine Pro, is the only odorless option on our list. Use this product if you have a hard time seeing through rain and snow. But I recommend using a different product to clean your windshield before applying Rain X.
