Here is the thing. Riftan worked his ass+1 to be in the position he is right now, he acomplished what no other Knight or Kingdom alone would ever do and he is so proud of it, everyone basically kisses his butt (not like I wouldn't). But he believes that Max only sees nothing but the small-ugly-no-rank knight that he used to be in the past, even when in the present he himself has his own Country and has the Kingdom (King included) basically on their knees for him, but in his mind he believes Max doesn't want him/love him because he isn't worthy. Swoooooon. My heart! Oh the pain! It has become so tightly woven around the lives of Riftan and Maxi that it beats and bleeds as theirs do. The novel follows right along with all the chapters of the manhwa but adds so much more information that I’m glad I decided to read both in tandem. I highly recommend reading both the online manhwa as well as the novels so that you can fully understand, and appreciate the story.Corea tiene bastantes cosas buenas tanto en cine como tv, pero es la primera vez que leo una novela de una autora coreana; tampoco defrauda. To be honest, both characters have lots of confidence problems, creating a lot of misunderstandings but both are trying their best to grow and be a little less insecure. And if you are into details like me, you will find many things to learn from, like it is ok to have weaknesses, how important it is to be honest, how love can encourage you to be a better person, how to deal with different character without being offended, it is ok to be straightforward, it is ok to have an argument, talk about it and make up, how achievement can increase someone self esteem, how overprotectiveness can be dangerous to a certain degree ( it can limit our self development) and many more

I felt Maxis fears, anxiousness and love while reading. Most insecurities and the anxiety are very understandable and you’ll find your self yelling ‚just tell him’ 😩 Maximilian struggles to adjust to her new life and the harsh realities of Riftan's world. She is plagued by her insecurities and fears, and she has difficulty communicating her feelings to Riftan. However, Riftan is patient and understanding, and he gradually breaks down Maximilian's walls. Under the Oak Tree, a romantic, historical and fantasy Korean light novel, is by far the most incredible read I did so far this year. It’s an easy read, doesn’t have that much going on, you don’t have to put your mind into it and the drawings are absolutely GORGEOUS. I love Riftan- his fierce protectiveness, his deep and boundless devotion to Maxi, his consuming love. Even though it pushes it's way into obsessiveness, it's clear that his life has been tied to Maxi's for longer and more adently then she could ever guess.What Riftan doesn’t expect is Maxi’s refusal to bow to her expected role, and instead determine her own fate. Maxi wants to use her growing skills as a sorceress to fight by his side, to protect Riftan as much as he protects her. Despite Riftan's opposition, Maxi heads off to the Mage Tower to expand her skills and save his reputation.... That's the scariest part when being in love is it. When you begin to care for someone so deeply that you cannot live without them. The realization of loosing them at anytime and that the space they left in your heart will be empty forever. I began to be scared for Max because I know how horrible yet wonderful that feels. So Of course they misunderstand each other!! They will probably need long time to restore confidence to communicate normally. Fourth, the story is quite heavy but enjoyable, you will experience emotional rollercoaster, like sad, symphaty, anger, happiness, heart warming, funny, cringe, proud, etc

What do you call it when someone you hate is suddenly owns a very important piece of your heart? Ange definitely barged her way in. Her and Hebaron felt like siblings always ruffling Riftans feathers. I glowed with pride and love for them. Also the young apprentice knight Yulysion was just so *squeeeeeeal*. I don't even have words. I love him.Like many, I first stumbled on the webtoon and thought the books would be an easy read while recovering from Covid - boy, was I wrong.
