Joe Dante's cult classic celebrates its 35th Anniversary wreaking havoc on Ultra HD with a gorgeous 4K HDR10 presentation, delivering a marked improvement over its Blu-ray counterpart, but the DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack is not all that much of a step up over the Dolby TrueHD version. These are the same tracks that were included on the 2009 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray release, and they’re as good as ever. I find that every time I watch this movie I always catch something new going on in the movie that I never noticed before.For those like myself who are really big into audio and video, you want to own the best version of this film. That said, it would have been nice to see some new special features as well as an updated Blu-Ray release to go with the 4K disc. This is very cool and worth watching (after the film) if you’re a fan and haven’t watched it previously.
