About this deal

Commonly used on Some Ford, Seat & V/W for underbody heat shields, noise insulations, bulk heads etc. Edit:- no need to start drilling extra holes in the body to use a pop rivet, just use what is there. BRISKODA is owned and operated by Summit 360 Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 05710517. The stud has a screw thread. So after initially pushing the washers on, can rotate them through one of the slots to tighten slightly. Haven't heard rattle (maybe just wan't looking for it and wrote it off as "cold start noise"??) but was cleaning under the hood a bit today and noticed that my shield is only holding onto 1 bolt while other isn't doing anything at all lol. All the "filler" that's supposed hold my shield in place just isn't there and it moves a LOT since really only one bolt is holding it.

DISCLAIMER: fordownersclub.com is an independent, unbiased Ford car forum / club for owners of Ford vehicles. Nightmare things, the amount of cars we see per year for rattles that are nothing more than heat shields that have dropped, most rot the actual heatshield and then it’s time for a big repair washer as most don’t want the cost of a new heatshield. As long as it’s at the rear of the car and not near the front, then ditching it in the main won’t cause you any problems, the biggest problem you get is the front ones that protect cv joints or steering uj’s as they then tend to fail prematurely.

Make a couple of big square washers from a bean tin, folded a couple of times and a small hole made with a nail. This then grips the stud. When Nissan designed the car, if they thought that it didn't require any rear heat shields, they wouldn't have fitted any, it would have saved them millions of pounds Not to fit any. They don't think, "we'll fit heat shields for the fun of it, not to worry about the cost" As for them not being suitable because of the heat - if you're getting that high exhaust temps, the clips are the least of your worries! Not to solid. It felt like kit kat wrappers as well.

Well today our up! has just returned from the VW dealer and lo & behold it had to have a new heat shield fitted.

Recently I had the opportunity to easily get underneath my Note and noticed that some of the exhaust heat shield clips are missing from the rear section, presumably corroded and fallen off. The remaining ones seem to be OK. The views expressed herein are those of the individual contributors and not necessarily those of BRISKODA or SKODA.Enquired about goodwill as car is 3 months out of warranty and has only covered 12000 miles from new 3 years ago when we bought it. I looked up myself before posting a few listings and they too came up with VW transporter, Golf fitment. But, didn't fit a Fabia for whatever reason. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=%23&ved=2ahUKEwjwvra2m7DkAhXIQUEAHdtmDGEQxa8BMAJ6BAgAEAY&usg=AOvVaw0VTJzWxrN8ZFOD4xbU2nov Car exhausts work hard to protect the air and the environment from dangerous emissions. At Halfords, we have exhaust essentials, including premium parts, clamps and gaskets, and other accessories. We also supply OEM parts, including DPF sensors, diesel particulate filters, catalytic converters and Lambda sensors. Use a bit of ally sheet instead of a repair washer, the galvanic corrosion will take many car lifetimes to eat through 1mm of aluminium compared to the wafer thin heatshield.
