About this deal

One other issue with my review sample is that the built-in ball head cannot tightly hold the weight of a phone and other SnapGrip accessories. ShiftCam stated that this would be fixed in production models and is caused by smooth paint applied to the ball head. The company plans to have the ball head textured with no paint in the production models. No. They are uniquely designed for specific iPhone models and are notinterchangeable. (Unless stated otherwise) You’ll find that the ProGrip allows you to capture photos just like you would with a dedicated camera. It’s a great feeling. It even helps when it comes to image composition as well. You’ll also be able to create videos that are super smooth and shake-free because you can hold your phone steady. As before, I can only report on my experience, and you’ll have to take ShiftCam’s word on this. In the Field and At Home

The MultiLens case protects your phone from damage due to dropping and gives you multiple lenses to choose from, without having to dig through your gear bag and attach them to your iPhone. The top part that features the magnetic holder is fine, and to ShiftCam’s credit, it can be detached from the SnapPod tripod and used on any other tripod with its built-in 1/4-inch threading. As an alternative, I’d recommend the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Table Top Tripod, which isn’t that expensive, has a much better build quality and ball head design, and is exactly what I wish the SmartGrip was.

Due to the magnetic nature of these accessories, using the SnapGrip ecosystem is simple. I don’t imagine most people will leave these accessories attached to their phones full-time, but that’s okay because they all just snap into place when needed and pull off when done. When it comes to smartphone photography, the biggest brands in the industry gained their popularity for a reason. However, if you’re looking for something new to try, look no further than Shiftcam. ShiftCam is a proven winner and there’s no reason to expect them to stop winning any time soon. Mobile photography and filmmaking with ShiftCam is a breeze – the ecosystem is well thought out, cleverly designed, and produced with quality materials. While ShiftCam isn’t frequently mentioned in the same breath as Moment, Sandmarc, and BeastGrip they may be soon enough. The ProLens by Shiftcam is a universally adaptable product, thanks to the unique universal mount. The ProLens can be attached to an iPhone, Samsung, OnePlus, or Pixel. It can also be used with iPads and laptops. SnapLight is a magnetic LED ring for hands-free lighting. No extra tools needed. Just snap and instantly brighten up selfie or whatever's right there in front of you.

The magnet is at its strongest when it comes to shearing force. Trying to slide the phone off laterally against the SnapGrip is challenging to do casually, which is great. The easiest way to get the phone off the SnapGrip is to peel it from the grip side because you get some leverage off the MagSafe side where the phone overhangs. This would be how the magnets are weakest, but it’s still good enough to where I never felt the need to totally baby the kit. Yes, you’ll always need to keep in mind that it’s held together by magnets, but it’s not such a distraction that it gets in the way of enjoyment. The ShiftCam ProGrip is beautifully designed and does what it promises. In addition, with some of the available add-ons, it can take your picture-taking to even higher levels. The final lens in the MultiLens case is a 180 Degree Fisheye Lens. This lens will let you express your creativity however you’d like from a fun and unique perspective. If you travel a lot and love photography but don't want to invest in a big camera or lenses, these could well be the solution you need to up your photography and video game. Even though we only got to tests the less at The Photography Show, we were able to test them on a pretty wide range of subjects considering we were inside an exhibition hall. These buttons are visible when the phone is rotated into a vertical position. The top one is for resetting the Bluetooth connection (for the shutter release) and the lower on activates wireless charging. (Image credit: Rod Lawton/Digital Camera World) Mylio Photos – Access your photos from anywhere, without the cloud! Easily showcase your photos on-the-go, resolve duplicates, find faces and look for those stunning locations. The ShiftCam ProGrip starter kit adds a more comfortable grip to every iPhone on the market, including the current iPhone 13 series. It also adds a simple-to-use Bluetooth shutter Samsung battery cells for longer shoot times and supports additional ShiftCam products such as pro-lens and pro-LEDs. We believe the best part of memories is making them. That’s why we strived to create the best possible tool for you to do so.

Shiftcam’s ProLens is available in a range of options including a 1.33x Anamorphic, 12mm Ultra-Wide Angle, 75mm Long Range Macro, 18mm Wide Angle, 230 Degree Fisheye, and 10x Macro. The newest addition to Shiftcam’s incredible lineup is the Progrip. The Progrip is the grip of your dreams. Not only is it ergonomically designed with a non-slip and perfectly angled grip, but it also contains a built-in battery to keep your phone charged for the duration of your photoshoot. If your phone doesn’t support wireless charging, you can use the built-in USB-C port to charge your phone by cable. The ProGrip can even be stood on end to double as a charging cradle while it does this. These lenses are guaranteed to be distortion free with incredibly sharp details. They’re designed to enhance the features already contained in your phone such as optical stabilization and low light functionality.Compatible with most mobile devices including iPhone, Samsung, Pixel, OnePlus, iPad, Laptops and more using ShiftCam Case or ShiftCam Universal Mount The MultiLens includes a Circular Polarizer Lens (CPL) the help eliminate reflections, reduce glare, and up the contrast on your ultrawide shots. As you tell by its stars rating in this review, there's little I don't like about the ShiftCam ProGrip. One criticism I have is being unable to store both the ShiftCam ProGrip and iPhone in the included case. Because the accessory works with different-sized smartphones, this limitation makes sense from an engineering perspective, although it's still a disappointment. I’ll come right off the bat and will say I am not entirely sold on the build quality of the ShiftCam ProGrip. The device is a plastic fantastic, which isn’t bad in itself, but I do have concerns. The main body of the ProGrip is solid. There’s no flex or play anywhere and it feels as tough as plastic can get. The grip is also beefy and well made. All of the buttons feel great as well. The part that concerns me is the spring-loaded phone grip. The ShiftCam ProGrip can accommodate even a large phone like the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which is also in a clear case here. (Image credit: Rod Lawton/Digital Camera World)

The custom semi-hard case is nice, but there's only room for the ProGrip without a phone attached. (Image credit: Rod Lawton/Digital Camera World) The fisheye lens doesn't come with a lens hood due to the dome of the glass but it does have a carry case you can safely store it in. My observation however is that while the design of the grip gives a feel like handling a DSLR, it would have been nice if the shutter button also had a half-stop press feature for focusing before firing away and it could also have benefitted in providing cases for other flagship smartphones that have great cameras. Also, on the 60mm lens, we mount it in the top port and it starts to work fine, but then it switches the port making the picture of the non-lens port. This is happening without adjusting the picture or focal distance. Not sure what to do. At our core, we are driven by a need to improve the lives of our customers. Our craftsmanship is the result of tireless research, where we push the boundaries of innovation to bring you the best mobile camera accessories possible. I did hit a snag here in testing: the long, braided USB-C to USB-C cable provided in the box didn’t provide any charge when I connected it from ProGrip to my phone. Replacing the cable with a much shorter one did convince it to charge, so this is something you may need to watch for. ShiftCam ProGrip extras If you want to use the grip with a tripod you can do that as well thanks to the tripod mount in the bottom of the grip. This will come in handy when you’re creating long exposures or videos. The lenses can either be bought individually or in bundles as listed above which means you really only have to spend money on the lenses you're going to find useful. The lens mount adapter sits snuggly under most phone cases so you don't need to invest in an additional case if you don't want to (although ShiftCam does make quite a smart-looking case if you did want to buy one). The lenses can also be used alongside ShiftCam's latest product, the Pro Grip which adds a grip to your phone that makes it feel more like a DSLR.
