About this deal

If you buy a chlorhexidine treatment in a pharmacy or supermarket, follow the instructions that come with it. For prescription medicines, follow the advice from your doctor, dentist or a pharmacist. Stop using the mouthwash and tell your dentist if you get irritation of the mouth, soreness or swelling of the inside of the cheeks. Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with Corsodyl spray. Just because a side effect is stated here doesn't mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect. The usual dose for children aged 12 and older is up to 5 lozenges a day. Adults can have up to 10 a day. Temporary staining of the teeth. This can normally be removed by brushing. You can avoid staining by not drinking tea, coffee or red wine - especially one hour after use, and by brushing daily with toothpaste (see usage instructions.) If staining continues it can be removed with a scale and polish from your dentist or hygienist. You can clean your dentures with denture cleaners

Chlorhexidine treatments are generally very safe. Many people use them without having any side effects at all. Side effects with skin treatments Corsodyl mouthwash should be used as directed to rinse the mouth. The mouthwash should be spat out, not swallowed, although accidental swallowing is unlikely to cause harm. Seek advice before using if you are breast feeding, pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suffer from allergies. Adults and children over 12 years of age should use 10ml of the mouthwash to thoroughly rinse the mouth for about one minute twice a day. Spit the mouthwash out after use. Only use chlorhexidine lozenges and sore throat spray for a short time. Do not keep using them continuously.Stop using chlorhexidine dental treatments and speak to a dentist, doctor or pharmacist if your mouth is: Corsodyl mouthwash contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine, which is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent. Some people get peeling skin inside their mouth when using chlorhexidine. If this happens to you, stop using the medicine and the side effect will usually clear up. Speak to your dentist or doctor, who may be able to recommend a different medicine. If you forget your chlorhexidine dental or sore throat treatment, use it as soon as you remember, unless it's nearly time for your next dose. In this case, just skip the missed dose and have your next one as normal. Adults and children over 12 years of age should use the spray twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Up to twelve sprays should be applied to the surfaces of the teeth and gums, or to ulcers or other sore areas in the mouth.

If you cannot use it at a different time, then rinse your mouth thoroughly with water after brushing your teeth. Wait at least 5 minutes before using chlorhexidine.
