About this deal

I don’t mind the lack of High CRI in the main beam, because you can always change to the AUX LED, that is supposed to be High CRI. The HA23 is an Ultra Compact AA Headlamp with a max output of 250 lumens and a wide-range 150° flood beam. The inclination of the HC65 V2 has a 180 ° adjustment; you have to do a little bit of force to turn it and, if necessary, to remove the flashlight from the headband, after having unscrewed the two caps. That said I think for walking at night I would prefer a lighter weight on my forehead mitigated if your wearing a hat. I found the ability to adjust brightness a big plus and the weight in use was not an issue for the work I was doing.

Includes: Nitecore NL1835HP 3500mAh 18650 8A li-ion battery, spare o-ring, USB-C charging cable, headband and bracket. The runtime test was done with the 50cm integrating sphere, including the Kenko Pro1D ND-16 filter and Extech SDL400 data logging Lux Meter. At around 20 minutes it settled at roughly 620-630 lumens and ran till it dropped again at the 2 hours and 5 minutes mark, to roughly 40 lumens. I am still very new at doing these types of measurements so I am no authority on on this subject, but please let me know if things don’t look right or you see anything that I could do to improve for next time. Nitecore says that it doesn’t work with flat tops, but I tried a flat top Sanyo cell, and it works just fine.

The warm CRI>90 white light is suitable for short range illumination and resembles the warmth of sunlight, giving a sharp visual whilst reducing eye strain. The first rectangular graph helps a bit better to see what angle the spill starts at as usually it is quite a bit dimmer then the center. Nitecore HC65 V2 is certified IP68, 2 m (waterproof and submersible) with an impact resistance of 2 meters.

The HC65 can use either 1 x 18650 Li-ion battery or 2 x CR123 single use or RCR123 (16340) Li-ion cells. While this isn’t my favorite format (emitter in the center of the body on an 18650 headlamp) I have to admit I like this one a bit. I really enjoy a 2-stage switch interface as it can be a very “fast” interface to use; generally you tend not to have to hold a button very long to do basic operations like turning on and off the light or switching levels. Equipped with a primary CREE XM-L2 US LED, users will enjoy a 1000 lumen wide-angle output beam capable of a 120 yard throw useful for mid-range illumination activities like hiking, biking and camping. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .

Once the battery has been inserted, the two LEDs under the button flash to indicate the remaining battery charge. A new breathable elastic headband keeps the HC65 V2 firmly in place with a rear rubber pad for improved comfort. A single switch on the front of the torch controls all the functions of the HC65 V2 and it can be turned on or off with a long press of the button. It’s worth to note that the runtime table provided by Nitecore states, “Runtime for TURBO [and] HIGH is calculated based on theoretical arithmetic. I wear mine snowshoeing in the mountains in blizzard like conditions and I can always rely upon my HC65!

The Nitecore HC65 V2 is a rechargeable LED head torch offering triple light sources that include a main white LED output as well as an auxiliary white light and a red light output. It is available for instant access to the red light while it is designed with a wide voltage range, compatible with various AA batteries. There is also a white auxiliary LED that has a high colour rendering index (CRI ≥ 90), a colour temperature of 4500 K and provides an output of 35 lumens. I've gotten to the point that I just close my eyes when I turn it on because I know I'm going to do it wrong and either activate the 10000lm strobe or the spot. The strap has a few sections of rubberized grip on the inside which can help keep the strap from sliding around, particularly on hats and helmets. The NITECORE HC65 UHE Ultra High Triple Output Metal Headlamp features an 8-core ultra high efficiency UHE LED that shines up to 2,000 lumens. The Sofirn ones are very good as a budget one, especially if you get it from China, through their site, but the one complaint I have is their head straps are a bit small if you have a large (size 61) head. The main white light LED, a Luminus SST-40-W has 5 normal levels and 2 special levels (Beacon and SOS).
