About this deal

if you don’t have a silicone pan, line a normal baking tin with baking paper and grease/cornflour as per the recipe. Take off the heat and gradually add the hot sugar syrup, whisking thoroughly between each addition to prevent lumps forming. Once smooth, use a silicone spatula to scrape down and clean the sides of the pan. Food Colouring –Using red colouring is easiest to achieve a delicate pink finish. I recommend using gel, as it’s more concentrated and doesn’t affect the consistency as much as liquid colourings. Sugar –Only use regular caster sugar in Turkish delight (superfine in the US). If you use golden caster or brown sugar it will make it too dark, so you won’t get that delicate pink colour.

Place the pan on a low heat and stir gently until the gelatine all melts. Add 1tspn sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Increase the heat and bring the mixture to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer gently for 20 mins. However, there is way too much powdered sugar covering each piece. I actually dust this off before eating it. If you are a fan of Turkish delight I’d highly suggest giving this brand a shot even with the smaller size of 150g you will not be disappointed. Would highly recommend this.

Our Address

Haci Bekir, a well-known confectioner, became famous due to his ingenious use of white sugar and cornstarch. He was summoned to the Topkapi Palace to pioneer the development of what is today one of Turkey’s hallmark confections. Carefully turn out the Turkish delight and cut into 24 squares with a lightly-oiled knife. In batches, toss the squares in the icing sugar mixture until they are well coated.

Have limited time? Struggle with recipe timings? Or juggling around other things? Here’s some timing info to help make your life easier! Turkish delight could be a bit hit or miss for me. I really like the milder flavoured ones sometimes like the others can be a bit strong. These are just right. They are dusted with icing sugar but not too much and the flavour is really nice. Even my wife, who is not a massive fan of Turkish delight, liked them. I’m extremely suspicious to talk about Turkish Delights. I just love this kind of candy. This one is really delicious. Sweets Rose always wins my taste buds.Xanthan Gum –This helps to stabilise the mixture and prevent sweating after it’s made. You can leave it out, but you may run into problems later as a result. Let the Turkish delight air dry for 24 hours after cutting it. This will prevent homemade Turkish delight from sweating. Rose Water –The key flavour. It’s best not to substitute this if you can help it. Rose is the traditional Turkish delight flavour after all! Enjoy and store: Turkish delight keeps well stored in a dry place for up to 1 month. Layer the candy between sheets of parchment in an airtight container on your countertop in a cool, dry place away from light and heat. Make sure there is a little space between each piece of Turkish delight. Varieties of Turkish Delight
