About this deal

I started out with the Gin and Tonic and it quite much caught my fancy. Bright notes of juniper and a touch of citrus. Well balanced with the tonic water.

Langley distillery uses only traditional pot stills for the production of Brokers Gin. This is because pot stills are better for extracting maximum flavour from the botanicals in a traditional hand-crafted fashion. The distillery has a mini-still, which is used for making small batches of gin from different recipes. The recipe for Broker’s Gin is 200 years old and was chosen after taste-testing against several newer recipes. Drinks: Makes a excellent martini, but remember to adjust your dilution and cooling to compensate for the slightly higher proof (in other words shake it a little longer). That being said, it will chill better than most as the higher proof seems to keep the botanicals blended better at a colder temperature than most and gives you a lovely molten glass appearance. It will cater to those martini drinkers who either remember the older style of gin (and martinis), or aspire to know what it was (and is)-a little less subtle, (but balanced), more body for the old style crowd or someone who wants to try something a bit different. One of my favorites for a gin and tonic which can actually be a more difficult drink for a gin to stand out in. I tried it in a Negroni, and found that those earthy notes were amplified: think cinnamon merengue, or carmelized oranges with a touch of fresh juniper. Overall, Broker’s Gin Notes:Made in a 200 year-old gin distillery outside London- triple-distilled spirit is used to macerate/steep the ingredients which are then distilled a 4th time in a copper pot still. [1] Only the truly committed (or committable) still use copper pot stills to produce truly different artisianal style products, with the resulting heavier and more complex flavors than what the column or coffey stills others produce. “Gin is a fiddlely thing to produce” to quote a (obviously English) distiller friend of mine made especially difficult to produce with a pot still. Paradoxically costs about 1/2 of the price of other premium gins.Il Gin, in questo caso, viene ridistillato con ulteriore frutta, fiori, spezie e, naturalmente, un sacco di petali di rosa freschi. In short, for non-sweetened spirits the most important way to count calories is by looking at the proof. If it’s a 30% ABV vodka, it’s going to have fewer calories than a Navy Strength Gin. Because alcohol contributes to calories far more than sugar— even sweetened spirits will be more determined by their ABV.

Broker’s Gin is very flavorful and very bright. Sweet bright citrus on the nose, and a bright dose of juniper as well. Possibly a hint of spice and florals around the edges, but it maintains a straightforward classic approach with a nice bit of juniper character.A cookie set by YouTube to measure bandwidth that determines whether the user gets the new or old player interface. Appearance: Crystal clear, displays long legs on swirling, which then become droplets on the side of the glass. Broker’s Gin was launched in the 1990’s. Supposedly created based on an early 18th century recipe— botanically, probably not in terms of base spirit, the base spirit is clean and clearly column distilled— it’s known as one of the bigger juniper-forward classic-style gins on the market today.

Martini is nice, but I find it good and not exceptional. I’m looking for that one thing to stand out here and quite unfortunately, complimented with Vermouth, it seems to take on an “everyday” sort of feeling. Where’s that balance?
