The stipulation of separation distances from uninvolved persons is a new requirement (the default distance within the EU regulations for most of our operations being 50m), but we have reached a compromise agreement with the CAA to ensure that the terms of our Authorisation are appropriate for our established operations. The 400ft height limit for model aircraft with an MTOM greater than 7.5Kg but less than 25Kg may be increased as necessary for the ‘model aircraft flying display’ and the agreed height limit will be set out within the ‘BMFA Display Permit’.
