About this deal

I found a few inconsistencies in this book. Every time a new character was introduced, they were first introduced by name without explanation. Then later the character was introduced with name + description which was unnecessary at that point. Lowin, Rueben and Kerensa's son, is introduced as being "almost 8" when it's nearly spring. Later it says his birthday is on Christmas which means he just turned 8. His birthday party, in summer, is his HALF birthday party. Jayden's wife is introduced as Florrie first and then later Flora. The repetition of character introduction could have been trimmed along with lots of subplot to make the book a bit shorter. Whether you are new to Jenny Colgan's books or have read previous in this series, it can easily be read as a standalone, as the main focal characters are brand new! Then we are introduced in chapter 1 to Polly and her family, now people may disagree, but they are not why I am reading this book. They were not in the blurb. I do not care about their family dynamic... I am reading this book for Marisa and her piano teaching neighbour as advertised in the blurb. Some parts and characters were well formed, interesting and realistic and others were there as plot devices/filler or just so plain annoying that it made the reading process quite challenging.

And thankfully that turns out to be the best decision of her life, although it is slow progress to come to that decision. Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence Marisa's recovery from anxiety seems a bit too pat. Yes, she does seek counseling and there are steps she goes through, but from seeing friends and family struggle with social anxiety and depression, I felt her journey was just too linear. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted. And Marisa is struggling with life generally at the moment since the death of her Nonno, and her ex landlord decided he doesn't want someone who has lost their way living with him, so suggests she moves to these rather out of the way cottages in Mount Polbearne, and with no other options she does just that. And although initially I did think they were perhaps the main focus of the book, they are present the whole time and we do get chapters focusing on them, but the main character is Marisa who is new to the area.

Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things): The day length shortens by 1 hour, 38 minutes over the course of November 2023, from 9 hours, 26 minutes on the first day to 7 hours, 48 minutes on the last in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, England. These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted. Now having said that there were elements of the story that I did enjoy: the representation of Marisa's mental health struggles were eloquent and deep, the scenes about her family were beautiful and emotional and the neighbour character was interesting and well thought out. These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're obnoxious, more than ever now they have a kid. Rueben still throws money away like it's grass and Kerensa tries to keep up with the horrid mothers and rich witches. Neither of them set a good example for their kid. No wonder he's a spoiled brat. At first Lowin reminded me of Dudley Dursley but by the time his party rolled around, I could see he just wanted to be a normal kid. Lowin is rude to the twin who worship him. I understand. I've seen it go both ways with hero worship and acceptance or hero worship and rejection of the younger child. Lowin is too young to understand how to be fake nice to babies.

One thing I didn't notice when I read it but definitely noticed while listening is that there was very little profanity and G/PG love scenes. Not sure if this was deliberate or not but I really appreciated it. Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score, we add up all the review scores and divide that total by the number of review scores we received. Guests can also give separate subscores in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free WiFi. Guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently – there’s no direct link between them. With each book, Jenny Colgan continues to hone her craft and each book just gets better and better. Well, with the caveat that "The Endless Beach" will always be my absolutely favorite Colgan of all time. Sunrise and sunset times, civil twilight start and end times as well as solar noon, and day length for every day of November in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. This book contains Colgan's always-welcomed food descriptions, and my mouth watered throughout with the details of the delectable dishes cooked and consumed. I thought that Marisa's journey was heartfelt and realistic. Grief shows up in ways that we cannot always explain, and there are times when we just can't "shake it off."
