She’d tell me all about the dramatic ups and downs of her relationship, not leaving out any details. Some of what she said was quite private and tragic, but she’d shrug it off or say something funny a second later, the way my favourite confessional comedians do today. She could see lightness in the dark. This award is open to all women filmmakers and content developers. The film must be an original narrative created, produced and devised by a woman, or women, although male cast and crew members are allowed. So, I love Katherinne Ryan for her Netflix comedy special Glitter Room, so I was pretty pumped when I found out she was releasing a book.

I don’t read non fiction or memoirs all that often (I think this is probably the second I’ve read in over a decade) but I genuinely really enjoyed this, and getting to learn more about Katherine as a person as opposed to her curated stage persona was really interesting.
