The Exorcist | 4K Ultra HD Official Trailer | Warner Bros
As a fan of the film, I’m fully aware of how bizarrely constructed and executed it is, but I love it anyway.Overall I think it’s a solid entertaining expansion of the first film, certainly miles better than the second film, but even with the footage of Blatty’s original version available, it’s far from a masterpiece.

This was the case when I was growing up in the 1980s, which I'm sure is probably true of many reading this now, and I vividly remember being forbidden to watch it as a kid and told that it could welcome the devil into our home. Part of the film’s attraction and horror exists in this realism — these are real people, with normal lives, not monsters or aliens like your average horror film or fantasy film. The Dolby Vision HDR grade is subtle but works nicely accentuating the primaries, black levels, and brilliant whites. It’s not a perfect film, but more of a wounded masterpiece that had some of the finest surgeons available to patch it up and send it out into the world.track, which also makes for an excellent option for purists, but it is only made available for the original theatrical cut of the film. The Vintage Interviews, which also feature behind-the-scenes footage, include William Peter Blatty, producer James Robinson, Larry King, C Everett Koop, Ed Flanders, George C. Linda Blair, in a breakout role, plays Regan, a young girl who starts to exhibit strange, arcane behavior. The Exorcist III was shot by cinematographer Gerry Fisher on 35 mm film using Panavision Panaflex and Arriflex cameras with Panavision lenses (the Zenith silent hand crank camera seen in the background at the beginning of the film doesn’t count).
