About this deal

Story was OK, if a little miserable - but reflective of what a normal life can be like, characters not really very likeable, and just as you thought that it was going to get a bit happier, the book abruptly stopped. Though major life events take place, this novel focuses primarily on the little moments that make up the mosaic of our lives.

I really enjoyed this novel, with a good storyline that keeps a good pace throughout so I stayed easily engaged with it.I found myself absorbed in them, caring about them, wanting them to do the right thing , and I was very sorry to leave them. Brilliantly clever and funny and sad -- India Knight --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I felt secondhand embarrassment reading the scenes between one character and his love interest, the attempt at flirtation actually pained me.My favourite character award definitely goes to Jamie; I could read another whole book from his POV. Chociaż lektura należała do całkiem przyjemnych, obawiam się, że nie jest to historia, którą zapamiętam na długo. The kind of rare story you want to nosedive into on a hot hungover weekend and slurp down like iced coffee - cold, sweet and quenching.

Together, Kit and Piglet are the picture of domestic bliss - effortless hosts, planning a covetable wedding . The storyline is well-crafted, the characters engaging and the level of detail brings every scene to life. The characters and their motivations were so criminally underdeveloped, I still don’t know why anyone did anything or what I was supposed to feel when they did it.This book seemed to be everywhere in 2022 and was recommended in many of the lists produced at the end of the year.

I liked reading all the interactions between Jamie and Nicole and the way that they functioned as siblings. Sometimes the novels chosen are new, often they are from the backlist and occasionally re-issued from way back. This is beautifully observed and will be familiar to anyone who is a mother or a daughter - the compliments, the nagging and the antagonising - the done in just a few words with the conversation moving quickly on. The complexities of any family dynamic are varied and they are many; a large scoop of fraught mother/daughter, a spattering of father hero-worship, a dollop of sibling fuelled inadequacy and four human beings who love each other. This one really tickled me when I saw it, but the subject matter is a lot less humorous than it might appear. But as the siblings grapple with the pressures of thirtysomething life, their parents struggle to protect the fragile facade of their own relationship, and the secrets they've both been keeping. Though there are some funny moments in the book, the emotional and mental issues the characters go through far outweighs anything humorous.
