Overdosage with a topical presentation of ibuprofen gel is unlikely; however, it may be encountered following excessive use or accidental ingestion. The concurrent use of aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and ethanol may lead to gastrointestinal (GI) blood loss. Ingestion of the product or excessive use may also lead to camphor poisoning, the symptoms of which include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, headache, dizziness, oropharyngeal burning, delirium, muscle twitching, epileptiform convulsions, CNS depression and coma.
