About this deal

While Motorola has worked its design magic to make this cheap plastic phone feel not terrible, there’s nothing it could have done about the display. It’s perfectly serviceable for day-to-day tasks, but you wouldn’t want to indulge in any long-form media content or extensive web-browsing sessions on it. The company has even found a way to inject a little flair into its design in the form of a subtle hexagon pattern etched into the plastic. As well as looking a little different, it also adds a slight undulating feel to the phone, which may also make it a bit grippier. The Moto E's screen problems are compounded by the fact that the display just isn't very bright. We measured a peak brightness of 388 nits with a light meter. That's below the 500 and 501 nit measurements we got with the Moto G Power and Moto G Stylus, respectively. You'll definitely have trouble making out the screen when you're outside on a sunny day. That’s true of the shots I took in good natural lighting, at least. They looked reasonably sharp and had colours that broadly resembled the scene as I saw it. Skin tones were decidedly non-ghoulish, and close-ups even yielded some convincing bokeh. Outside in bright sunshine, though, the Moto E fares much better. It accurately recreates the blue sky surrounding a movie theater marquee and it even manages to capture the details of the cinema's facade. The TCL 10L photo is much darker for some reason, with even the movie theater sign looking shadowy. I’m pleased to announce that the Moto E20 does a respectable job for the money. None of the pictures I took had me swearing off the best camera phones – you’ll still need to spend more for genuinely good results – but the results I got were far from terrible.

The Moto E20 comes with a humble camera setup that involves a 13-megapixel wide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor, with a 5-megapixel selfie camera at the front. The Motorola Moto E20 offers a lot of power for little money, weighs less, and features a dated but fast WLAN. If these aspects are important, then this inexpensive device could be of interest to you.Unfortunately, we can't really tell you how the Moto E compares to other phones, as the phone can't currently install the Geekbench 5 test for measuring general performance. We were able to run 3DMark's Sling Shot Open GL test to measure graphics performance, however, and the results don't put the Moto in a flattering light. The Moto turned in a score of 949, which was well behind the results of the Moto G Power (1,734), Moto G Fast (1,769) and TCL 10L (1,747). Those three phones all use a Snapdragon 665 chipset, which is certainly a decent piece of silicon but not something that's going to blow away other handsets.

Motorola's Moto E20 is a fast, light, and very affordable smartphone but with slightly shorter battery runtimes. MOTOROLA a štylizované logo M sú registrované ochranné známky spoločnosti Motorola Trademark Holdings, LLC Speaking of filling the phone up, you're very limited as to how much you can install right out-of-the-box. The Moto E only comes with 32GB of internal storage, meaning it won't be long at all before you find yourself running out of room. Motorola does remedy this with a microSD card slot that allows you to add up to 512GB of additional space, but even for these super cheap phones, I'd love to see 64GB become the norm. One telltale result of this is that you get the Google Gallery app pre-installed, instead of the full-fat Google Photos that comes with most other Android phones. The onus is clearly on taking the strain off that creaky old processor and limited RAM.In GPU terms, the Moto E20 scored better than both its big brother the Moto G22 and the TCL in the 3DMark Sling Shot tests. Like those other phones, the Moto E20 wouldn’t even run the more demanding Wild Life tests due to its limited hardware setup. Lower-cost phones have made a habit of adding extra lenses as of late, so in a sense, the Moto E feels decidedly old-school. There's a 13-megapixel main shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, augmented by a 2MP depth sensor for better portrait shots. That hardware produces pretty competent photos, though the Moto E can struggle with lighting.
