Black Sunflower is suitable for feeding from a range of different stations within your garden to best suit the requirements of your birds. Sunflower Seeds have a high oil and fat content making them fantastic for healthy feathers and beaks. Supplied with growing instructions, 2kg is enough to grow approximately 10 trays of fresh sunflower greens with a growth time of 10-14 days. These black sunflower seeds are organic, which means that no artificial fertilizers or pesticides are used during cultivation.

More than half of all the black sunflower seeds we sell at Vine House Farm have also been grown by us on our farm! Birds love our high-oil, recleaned black sunflower seeds because we’ve specially selected them for the energy-giving oil content. Black Sunflower Seeds are also known for their unusually thin shells, which is an advantage for smaller birds as it's easier for them to crack the seed open and eat the goodness inside.

Our black sunflower seeds are suitable for feeding all year round, although you may wish to switch to sunflower chips in the spring months to help fledglings who may not be able to get at the heart quite as easily as adult birds.
