About this deal

We've experienced that single-core performance is essential for some games, as many don't take full advantage of multiple cores. The real issue is, as is correctly pointed out, is the 5000 series. The 5500 is usually available for not much more. That's what can cannibalize the sales of the 4000 series unless the price drops more, relative to the 5500.

Based on our evaluation, the 4100's 4.0 GHz single-core max boost frequency is excellent for performance with the latest graphics-intense games. You can maintain these frequencies with a high-end cooler. From what we are able to gather, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D will be officially announced with its pricing in the coming days but the availability isn't expected until the 20th of April. As for the other Ryzen mainstream chips, those are expected to be announced on the 15th of March but will come to retail shelves slightly earlier on the 4th of April. So summing up the launch plans: Boost frequencies are only achieved under ideal circumstances. However, with adequate cooling, you may be able to maintain speeds near the max boost frequency. With superior graphics, amazing speed, and an incredible selection of games Windows 11 is the best operating system for gamers. geko95gek said:Yeah haven't these been out a while? Seems pretty pointless to even talk about them tbh, lowest AMD CPU of this generation anyone should even consider buying is the 5600. 😂If by a while you mean a few months...The thermal design power (TDP for short) of the processor is 65 W. The TDP specifies the necessary cooling solution that is required to cool the processor sufficiently. The TDP usually gives a rough idea of the actual power consumption of the CPU. The Core i3-12100 also dominates in single-threaded applications, being 44% faster than the Ryzen 3 4100 and 34% faster than the Ryzen 5 4500 in our overall measurement. In threaded work, the Core i3-12100 is 40% faster than the quad-core Ryzen 3 4100, leaving no justification for the 4100 for new builds. Aside from the disabled iGPU, these chips have the same Renoir design as the OEM-only Ryzen 7 4750G (hit the link for the full architectural details), including support for PCIe 3.0 instead of PCIe 4.0. As a result, this chip will make a great pairing for older, lower-end AM4 motherboards (you definitely don't want to pay for functionality you don't need by pairing it with a PCIe 4.0-supporting motherboard). A CPU's cache is a small amount of memory, close to the CPU cores, containing recently used data. An L3 cache capacity of at least 20 MB is ideal for games and professional tool performance.

We couldn't decide between Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 4100. The differences in performance seem too small. Specifications and connection of peripherals supported by Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 4100. PCIe versionThe level 3 cache is only 4 MB, the architecture of the AMD Ryzen 3 4100 comes from the Renoir APUs and not from the pure Zen 2 desktop (Matisse) CPUs. However, the internal graphics unit, which all Renoir APUs have, is deactivated in the AMD Ryzen 3 4100, so that it requires a dedicated graphics card to operate. This article evaluates AMD's Ryzen 3 4100 desktop CPU. We evaluated AMD's Ryzen 3 4100 and compared it to others to determine which provides the best value as a gaming CPU. We shaped our testing methodology to focus on each CPU's attributes rather than solely on benchmarks. AMD has a lot of Ryzen AM4 Desktop CPU announcements coming up in the next few weeks that include Zen 3D, Zen 3, and Zen 2 chips. We have confirmed with our sources when these chips will be officially announced and available in the retail segment. The Core i3-12100 and 12100F remain the hands-down winners for budget gaming builds. Most budget builders are looking for the best all-rounder chip they can buy, and here the Core i3-12100 and 12100F unquestionably offer the best blend of performance in gaming, single- and multi-threaded work, along with more modern connectivity options. However, the Ryzen 5 4500's few advantages in threaded workloads come with severe tradeoffs in gaming and single-threaded applications. As we often see, mixed-use types of applications are common. Our Adobe tests are a good example — the 12100's superior mix of overwhelmingly faster single-threaded performance and more than sufficient threaded heft often takes the lead in those types of workloads. Max boost for AMD Ryzen processors is the maximum frequency achievable by a single core on the processor running a bursty single-threaded workload. Max boost will vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to: thermal paste; system cooling; motherboard design and BIOS; the latest AMD chipset driver; and the latest OS updates. Based on our evaluation, the 4100's 4 cores allow for mediocre performance with the latest graphics-intense games. The segment in which we have classified the AMD Ryzen 3 4100. Here you can see if it is a desktop processor or a mobile processor or which processor may be the successor of the AMD Ryzen 3 4100. The AMD Ryzen 3 4100 has a 3.8 GHz base frequency and supports a 4.0 GHz single-core max boost frequency. Increased core counts can improve the performance of games that use them, but most modern games don't benefit from having more than 6–8 cores. We've experienced the best performance by prioritizing a higher single-core boost frequency, then on a higher multi-core boost frequency, rather than focusing on core count alone. Remember that cache sizes often increase along with core counts, so if you want to increase your L3 cache, you may need to get a CPU with more cores.
