For instance, it has been shown that maternal perinatal association increases siblings’ altruism ( Lieberman et al., 2007; Sznycer et al., 2016). This finding is also supported by experiments in which facial resemblance has been manipulated (e.g., DeBruine, 2002; Platek et al., 2004, 2005), benefiting from the fact that in our species, the primary source of information is facial appearance.
