About this deal

It uses Samsung's Infinity-O screen technology we've seen on previous devices from the firm, and means you get a punch-hole camera design at the top of the display. It sits in the notification bar, which keeps it nicely out of the way, so not to intrude on general usage. Audio quality, on the other hand, is disappointing. The phone has a single bottom-firing speaker that maxes out at 90dB. It’s fine for video calls, but it sounds pretty bad for everything else. On the plus side, Dolby Atmos is supported with wired or Bluetooth headphones. Typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. Rated (minimum) capacity is 4,370 mAh. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors.

Samsung's top performer in the Galaxy A series offers a new design and a quad camera at a mid-range price. Samsung Galaxy A71 Network: The bandwidths supported by the device may vary depending on the region or service provider. Top phone in Samsung's 2020 Galaxy A line-up is the A71. The handset features a huge 6.7-inch display with FHD+ resolution. The Super AMOLED panel delivers a bright and contrast-rich viewing experience. The new, nearly edge-to-edge design also helps to reduce the overall size of the phone. The 32 MP front camera is only visible through a discreet hole in the display. As with its predecessor, the front is protected by robust Gorilla Glass 3. 64 MP Main Camera Benchmarks underscore our experience. On Geekbech 5, a test that measures raw processor power, the A71 5G earned scores of 609 single-core (SC) and 1,879 multi-core (MC), for a nice lead over the Pixel 4a at 402 SC and 1,618 MC. The predecessor model, the Galaxy A50 was already one of the most successful phones in the Galaxy A series. The A51 is intended to follow this tradition and presents itself in a discreetly updated prismatic design. In addition to the slightly iridescent colours, the almost bezel-less 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display is an attention grabber. It delivers FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels in the widescreen 20:9 format. Gorilla 3 glass protects the display including the front camera and in-screen fingerprint sensor from scratches. Only the 48 MP main lens has a lower resolution. The others are identical to those on the more expensive phone. The 12 MP ultra wide angle has a focal length of 13 mm and a fast f/2.2 aperture. You also get a 5 MP depth sensor for bokeh effects. New this year is the 5 MP macro lens for close-ups. The front selfie camera is 32 MP. Sufficiently Fast Performance The 64MP quad-pixel lens performs well in all lighting scenarios. Photos are crisp, depth of field is excellent, and color is slightly saturated but looks great. In low light, we noticed minor noise and a slight loss of detail, but the phone managed to surpass the Pixel 4a in a few scenarios. The ultra-wide lens offers similarly good performance. Call quality is excellent. At 85dB, the earpiece is loud enough to hear in just about any setting. Our test calls were consistently clear on both ends, and noise cancellation worked well.

We tested the phone for over an hour playing Alto’s Odyssey and didn’t experience any lag or skipped frames. The game loaded fast and didn’t have a significant effect on battery life.Samsung's 2020 mid-range phone offers a nearly edge-to-edge display and a quad camera. Samsung Galaxy A51

And the Galaxy A71 5G is one of Samsung’s first handsets confirmed to receive OS upgrades for three years. While there’s no timeline on when Samsung will release these updates, it’s good to know that you're not buying into a dead end. Conclusions When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy A71 design, it's all about the huge, 6.7-inch display. It dominates the front of the handset, but with minimal bezels around the side it fits in the hand better than you'd imagine. The front-facing camera takes up more space on the A71 than it does on the cheaper Galaxy A51 - even though they're the same lens. That's down to the fact the Galaxy A71 uses a Super AMOLED Plus panel (vs Super AMOLED on the A51) which is thinner and lighter, but the trade-off is the camera cut-out needs to be a little larger. The 5MP macro sensor is just okay. With a steady hand and good light, you can get a decent shot, but not one that can compare with a true macro lens. That's not surprising, as we’ve yet to see a spectacular macro lens in this price range.Replacement battery included with a screen repair, excluding Note 4, S5, J7 (2016), J5 (2016), J5 and J3 (2016) models. One of the big party pieces for the Samsung Galaxy A71 is its cameras. The front-facing, 32MP snapper produces high quality shots, even in the slightly awkward lighting of the Samsung booth, which should satisfy selfie fans. The Samsung Galaxy A71 could also be a bit of a star when it comes to battery life. Samsung has squeezed a sizable 4,500mAh battery into the handset, which is bigger than the battery in the Galaxy S10 Plus (4,100mAh) and Galaxy Note 10 Plus (4,300mAh).
