About this deal

The Brutalisers have the same movement as most in the warband (5″) but Toughness starts to go down (3) meaning that those 15 wounds are even more precious now. They compensate with really strong melee profiles: Grandfather’s Blessing (Triple, all Leaders): Add 1 to the Strength characteristic of melee weapons for all friendly fighters within range. Hooked Net (Double, Bloated One with Raker-claw and Hooked Net):A chance to do up to 6 damage and prevent the engaged target from moving or disengaging.

Ranging from brutal Ironjawz to kunnin’ Gloomspite Gitz , this Grand Alliance boasts a number of warbands with which to conquer the deadly forests of Ghur . Having taken a look at the changes to the Thunderstrike Stormcast yesterday, we’re now examining their most recent rivals, the Kruleboyz . The Clawleader is the champion and the Leader with a similar profile to the Bringer-of-the-Word but no special ability. Digging into the box, it’s got the usual assortment of dice, pogs, and boards you would expect… but that’s probably not why you are reading this review! Let’s talk plastic. First off, the terrain is WAY bigger than it looks in the promo pictures. That extra point of damage on a critical hit will come in handy, especially when you pair it with the Nadirite Weapon ability* that the Ossiarch Bonereapers already enjoy. Both have access to the Double Blowpipe, that synergises well with the warband abilities, reducing enemy Toughness and increasing the damage if they were able to use Gruesome Harvest beforehand. Stream of Corruption (Triple, Rotbringer Sorcerer): A chance (on a 5+) to do up to 3 damage and reduce by 3 the Toughness (to a minimum of 1) of an enemy within 7″. Gaze of the Idolarc (Triple, Idolarc): Subtract up to 3 to the Move or Toughness characteristic of the enemy in range. If you want to take things further, Warcry: Heart of Ghur is your next step into a world of lethal skirmishes. You get two full warbands of delightfully chaotic warriors, plenty of terrain for fighting across multiple levels of perilous jungle, and complete rules for the new edition of Warcry.

The Lord of Plagues is the heavy hitter of the warband with Strength 5 and 3/5 damage. 32 Wounds and Toughness 4 guarantee him some longevity too. He does not have special abilities however and does cost a fifth of the warband. Warptongue Blade (Triple, both Gaunt Summoners): A chance to do some damage depending on the value of the ability and dice roll on an engaged enemy. Capricious Warpflame (Quad, Pyrocaster, Flamer and Exalted Flamer): Allocate up to 6 damage to all close enemy fighters. Slaves to Impulse (Double, all Slaangors): Perform a bonus move towards the closest enemy as long as it was maximum 6″ away.

Sam: I’m most excited about the new campaigns. The Gnarlwood is a treacherous and deadly place for the players to explore as they send out their scouts and choose where to set up their encampment for the night. No two campaigns will ever be alike as they take different twists and turns through the many quests to choose from, the treasures players can find, and places they might discover.
