About this deal

By getting children involved in our numbers-based activities you can also help us be there for children when they need us most. Number Day is an inclusive maths-inspired fundraising day for children in nursery right through to secondary school, with free downloadable activities suitable for all ages and abilities. The other Mums said it must have taken ages and I was too embarassed to admit it so said "nah, about half an hour":oops::oops:) Sadly (or luckily ;)) I don't have so much time on my hands these days. Thank you for providing a much-needed service for parents and one which really represented good value for money.

You’ve helped me become more organised with the schedule of things, but without the pressure I was putting myself under before. It’s not only teaching my little one things, it’s showing me how things should’ve been done when I was younger. The NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) is a leading children's charity that works to protect children from abuse and help those affected to recover. It gave my son the words to articulate what had happened to him and to be able to say it was not OK. For an easy costume, could you just dress them in black and stick white dots on them to look like dominos? Pupils are also encouraged to Dress Up for Digits and make a donation to wear an item of clothing with a number on it. Yes, this is a bit of a cheat, but a pretty clever play on words too (and who doesn't love The Count on Sesame Street?

Cut out the bottom of the box, and cut in a hole for the head and two holes at the sides for the arms. With fun, free maths resources for all age groups, Number Day is the perfect way to get your school or nursery involved with fundraising and celebrating maths while helping to protect more children from abuse. Funds raised from Number Day will help to support vital NSPCC services such as Speak out Stay Safe, which visits primary schools across the UK to teach children about the dangers of abuse and what they can do if they need help. After seeing one of the NSPCC’s Speak Out Stay Safe assemblies, Luke disclosed the abuse to his mum.

Alternatively they could carefully scribe a story problem on the front, and the calculation on the back. What about dressing up as a bingo board, and cover normal clothes with lots of different numbers on round white cards? These fun activities will help children to develop a variety of skills from number recognition and formation to simple addition and subtraction. Alternatively you could have them dressed in all black and stick Monopoly money, or print-outs of different-sized coin images, all over.If there is a specific area of learning your child needs support with, our packs offer information, advice and plenty of engaging practical activities. Then stick the slice (or slices if you decide to do a few) onto some plain clothing for them to wear. The children really enjoy it and it is a great opportunity for children to apply their Maths skills to everyday scenarios.

Well, for us mere mortals who roll our eyes when our child gets given a ‘sew a puppet’ -esque present for their birthday, here’s how to get Maths Week costumes all sewn up, without any sewing at all! Written by teachers and experts and exclusively available to TheSchoolRun subscribers, learning packs (each 50+ pages long) are fun as well as practice-packed. Katie Fudge, Schools Fundraising Development Manager from the NSPCC said: “We are hoping for lots of schools and nurseries to sign-up to what can be a great day of learning and play. If your child has been looking at fractions in their maths work, chances are they’ll have discussed dividing cakes evenly. Make a ‘sandwich board’ for your child to wear by getting two large pieces of card (the thicker, the better) and fastening them together with ribbon or elastic by piercing holes at the top and threading through.Alongside this, our Place Value Within 20 Multiple Choice Interactive Quiz is a wonderful resource for whole-class learning. TheSchoolRun offers parents thousands of printable and interactive worksheets, covering every aspect of the primary curriculum. Please tick if you would like to receive news, offers and information from our trusted and carefully selected partners that we think you might like.
