About this deal

The Thrustmaster T300RS GT gives players exactly what it promises - an authentic racing feeling. It has a high-quality finish and is easy to grip. However, for the fact that you only get a third pedal, the price difference to the standard version is quite high. Though if you attach importance to a manual transmission, the investment is worthwhile. It remains to be said that such a steering wheel requires a racing seat - this is the only way you can fully enjoy its features. T300 RS GT Edition: Price UK If you are also one of those people that have to be dragged away from great racing titles such as Gran Turismo or Forza Horizon by your family or significant other, then a racing wheel like this is a no brainer. The authenticity and immersion it provides are certainly worth the price of admission for serious racing fans. One Pedal More It's worth noting that iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Snowrunner, Gran Turismo Sport, and Grid are the only games fully compatible with the G923 at the time of writing. Don't expect too many oldies to be added, since it requires more work from the developers. There’s a solution, but it’s not cheap. These wheels are actually part of a system – you can get other steering wheels and more advanced pedalboards, the T3PA and the fab T3PA Pro. There’s even a manual gearbox if you want a proper old-school driving feel. The exterior of the steering wheel part itself is also all-plastic, without the metal parts that make these wheels seem a bit less toy-like. There's still sports car-like metal spoke shifters behind the wheel, though.

However, you can change the overall strength if you are feeling too much or too little weight through the wheel. Some cars in ACC have a higher wheel weight than others, whilst some are lighter, so you may often change this if you are constantly swapping cars or struggling with weight. Step 4: Applying the best T300RS settings for ACC Now that you have all of the software required, you need to optimise your settings for ACC in the Thrustmaster Control Panel. After finding the control panel program through your Windows search tab – which falls under ‘Thrustmaster FFB Racing Wheel’ – you will be greeted with a small window called ‘Game Controllers’. Here, you should hit properties, which takes you to the main control panel which consists of three tabs, ‘Test Input’, ‘Test Forces’ and ‘Gain Settings’. The Thrustmaster T-GT doesn’t come with next-level pedals and its steering could be smoother considering the price. As such it seems a little expensive, if still a sensational wheel in its own right. Like others on this list, Hori offers two different wheels depending on the platform you're playing on. While the Hori Apex is for PS4, the Hori Overdrive is for Xbox One.Whether Fanatec or Thrustmaster is the better racing wheel brand will ultimately come down to your personal tastes and budget. Just looking at the Fanatec CSL Elite, you can tell it’s made by nerdy obsessives. After all, who else would choose that funky grey disco ball effect on the base? Not all will love the look, but at least it’s not super-shiny. The dual-belt mechanism allows for smoothing out of the different data elements received from the race course or circuit.

It is important to note that when you go through the setup phase, you must have the small switch on the bottom left of your base set to the ‘PS3 mode’. You must keep your wheel on this setting when you are using it on PC.Like the T300RS on which it’s based, the T300RS GT Edition is a handsome looking device, and is comprised of three main components. There’s a set of pedals, a steering base and removable wheel, too. However, the GT Edition adds a series of small tweaks to set it apart from the standard T300RS. Many owners end up wanting to upgrade the pedals after a while too. The pedal caps are metal, but this is really just a basic plastic construction, without the stiffness of a great board or more advanced features like a high-end progressive brake. There are good bits, sure, particularly the lower price. However, the Hori Apex (and the Hori Overdrive) is easily the most toy-like wheel in this group. It has plastic gear shifters, fairly cheap plastic pedals and no parts to upgrade. It also has very limited rotation compared with all the other wheels here, turning just 270 degrees rather than 900 or 1080. The benefit is obvious — you can use the Thrustmaster T300 RS to control your system rather than having to juggle between the wheel and a pad. It’s handy, and very welcome because, let’s be honest, no racing wheel is remotely convenient.
