I painted three coats of same brand white base enamel, each coat 20 minutes apart. Let it cure for 24+ hours.I painted everything white, per the instructions, before generously applying glow in the dark paint on the interiors. I was hoping that the glow would be strong enough to cast shadows off the unpainted surfaces. The lighting effect worked pretty good if you ask me. This paint has a bright reaction to UV light, and is even reactive to ambient light. The paint leaves a slightly off-white color while spraying, so you can see how well you've covered your project. Not sure why people are talking about the car stopping after 2 sprays or not glowing. My can lasted the whole can and it glows super bright!! Using the spray instead of the jar of glow in the dark paint allow me to get a more uniform crisper look for my letters than using the jar of paint. BUT remember I am just a person with no paint experience… Anyway using the stencil and the can of spray paint from Rust-Oleum gave me a much more even finish! Please see attached photos… Unfortunately, I need to do a better job of masking off the area because as you can see in the photo I have some over spray on case -01-. AGAIN the main important thing is to use WHITE primer for the first layer then follow with the glow in the dark spray. If you don’t use a primer it will not glow bright at all. For ANY review that says this paint does not “work”, did not follow the instruction and MOST likely didn’t have a white base coat to begin with.
