About this deal

As my Eraser was in the washing machine I decided to watch the “How to Use Your Makeup Eraser” video on Sephora. Unfortunately, I have started noticing more wrinkles and my eyes seem to be shaggier from the rubbing and tugging! I don’t wear a tonne of make up but I have a really stubborn mascara that takes around 2 cotton rounds with micellar water per eye to remove but these cloths take it off in seconds! I didn’t like it at all because I had to rub so hard to remove my makeup, and the OCD in me could not stand that the cloth wasn’t clean after rinsing.

I take great care in my facial routine but notice that no matter what when I use my toner it seems my face always has a makeup or dirty residue left. I haven’t tried this yet but if it works, this would be a great way to get a whole bunch of cloths on rotation! What is removed is trapped in the cloth until the properties are changed when soap and agitation is introduced.I bought 2 Makeup Eraser dupes (mine were from Cheap As Chips) and I agree it is not sufficient to wash these weekly.

I appreciate your comments/review but it’s slightly misleading when you’re placing links in the comment leading to the makeup eraser site. No rinsing required – If you’re lucky enough that the remover successfully removes all your make-up, then you don’t need to rinse your face afterwards, or worry about residues staying on your face!It takes of 100% of my makeup and I find it gentler than using a regular washcloth and you get no residue left behind. Makeup Eraser is actually a great product and it uses one the best ways to exfoliate your face technique that I use.

To use a make-up remover cloth, you simply wet it with warm water and rub on your face in small circular motions – and your make-up comes off, without using any “chemicals” (well, except for dihydrogen monoxide (H 2O) and the substances in the cloth, the glucose you use to power your hands etc. I think they asked you to launder the cloth before use because a lot of things (clothing, towels, etc) are coated with a layer of chemicals when they are first sold so that they don’t wrinkle as easily and appear to be softer and generally better than they really are. Rubbing and tugging – If your make-up is particularly stubborn, it might not come off without rubbing and tugging. It’s like with shoes – a shoe with a perfectly flat sole is going to have worse grip than a shoe with a ribbed sole, which has a better surface area. I will never use it again anywhere near my eye area again and I’m not sure that I should ever use it on my face either?

Hearst UK is the trading name of the National Magazine Company Ltd, 30 Panton Street, Leicester Square, London, SW1Y 4AJ. Although some testers found it hard to remove waterproof mascara, 86% would happily swap this cloth for disposable pads. found it easy to wash, saying that it retained its colour and shape and that there was minimal staining.

I just discovered the Makeup Eraser through a free sample and loved it so much I purchased a full size one when they were on sale for Christmas! The Washing: as a nurse and per a dermatologist the cloth actually does not harbor or grow bacteria.

I do tend to kind of scrub my face with a washcloth probably harder than I should, but I agree that rough rubbing around the eyes is a no no! The first time you use the Makeup Eraser it is suggested to throw it in your washing machine for a cleaning. I followed up by cleansing with micellar water after to see if any makeup was left behind and aside from a bit of mascara my cotton pad came back clean. Can avoid using make-up removers – If make-up removers and cleansers make you break out or irritate excessively but manual buffing is OK, a make-up remover cloth could be your saviour!
